Its Canada Day here in our beautiful country. We finally have some rain. I am home for 3 whole days with no responsibilities and of course, this means quilting time!! The July 1857 blocks were posted an hour ago and I have all three prepped and ready to go! Yea me. And since I have at least 10 blocks with the corner leaves stitched on, these should not take too long.
I have been sick with a dreadful head cold throat thing this past week. I hope it is gone soon and I have my voice back, since the little girls are tired of me whispering at them. Four year old Elly is coming over for the week and she will be going to Vacation Bible School for the first time. I start leading a small group for the summer once again. This time we will be working our way through a booklet our pastor wrote called "Hearing God". So, for the next nine Tuesday nights, we will be on a journey to learn to quiet ourselves, and listen for the still, quiet voice of God and journal. This is not always easy for someone who operates out of a slightly ADHD mindset. Learning to still my thoughts and lean into God is a challenge for me, but I am the group leader, so I have to do all the homework first. Its going to be good. No. Its going to be amazing.
I bought tickets for our ministry trip to India in October. At the VBS
they will be collecting school supplies for us to take along for one of
the children's homes.
I got two of the blocks done. Just need to do some embroidery. More perfect circles.
Blessings,
Chris
I like that Canada Day somewhat coincides with our Independence Day here in the USA. I loved three day weekends before I retired.
ReplyDeleteThree day weekends don't mean much here in the Farm except that kids are home from school so we van get more work done.
DeleteChris, you blocks are lovely. I am collecting the patters and hope to sew them soon.

My experience is, if I collect the patterns and plan to get at them sometime, sometime never seems to come and I collect more patterns. Don't wait too long. these are a lot of fun. Maybe because most of them are so simple.
DeleteHaving said that, I got the pattern for the Csswell quilt and am still thinking about it and you are well on your way on it.
DeleteI just realized who you are on the FB group! Great job on the blocks. Hope the voice comes back soon for you.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too. I am barking less but sniffling more.
DeleteI do get around.
I hope you feel better soon. Enjoy your days off and you pretty stitching.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I hope I feel better soon too. Its been two weeks and time to move on. I love having the grandkids here but do enjoy nice quiet days too.
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work on on blocks. Have a great day!
Thank you Sherrie. I had a nap today and now to do some slow stitching but slowly this time.
DeleteLovely circles! When I'm not feeling well, my circles are sure to suffer, lol
ReplyDeleteI felt well enough yesterday when I did those.
DeleteLovely appliqué blocks! Perfect to stitch away on this weekend! Happy Canada Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I will continue stitching until the little girl shows up tonight.
