This is what I have been working on for the past few weeks. GORF 2
I could not post or boast about it . . .
. . . until it was gifted to our friends for their farm wedding
The bride and her posse showed up in grand style
The guys wore green
The girls wore purple
The bride's tractor is red and the groom's is green.
I got to drive the team . . . Penny and Tammy were very cooperative for this first timer.
My husband insisted that I could and should put the invitation photos on the quilt.
Steep learning curve but I got it now.
He designed the layout.
I did an edge to edge on the longarm that I rented time on last month
and had this whole thing quilted and bound 2 weeks in advance.

What a wonderful Wedding Quilt - congratulations. The addition of the photo blocks make it so very personal and precious!!
ReplyDeletethank you. I had never done any photos on fabric before and had quite a time of it figuring it out, from finding the fabric paper (a 50 pack for $50) then wasting a dozen sheets trying to get it right, to spraying too much scotch guard on and blurring all the colours. But I finally got it right. Now to put new ink cartridges in my printer.
DeleteLovely lovely quilt Chris congratulations on finishing it on time it's a real beauty, m goodness that wedding looked like a lot of fun and full of memories for all who attended it. Thanks for sharing this is my first farm wedding I have seen. Hugs Glenda
ReplyDeleteThank you. It was a lot of fun. My husband's passport arrived in the mail just 2 days before we left, since it was a cross border trip to Pennsylvania USA. Ours was a farm wedding here 45 years ago.
DeleteA hearty drumroll indeed! What a fun wedding and absolutely stunning quilt! :)
ReplyDeleteYou cannot imagine how hard it was for me to keep this one quiet. And even then, the bride suspected we would make her a quilt. I guess asking her the colours several months ago made her suspicious.
DeleteA lovely quilt and the photos give it even more meaning. What a fun wedding!
ReplyDeleteThank you. The wedding was a lot of fun, from the setting, to the country dance music to the thunderstorm that circled around and missed us. They got the most amazing photo of the bride and groom kissing with the setting sun behind black storm clouds and blades of lime green grass in the front. I could not share that photo.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous quilt! The colours look beautiful together! I love the hearts and leaves surrounding the photos (which are also gorgeous).
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting to TN&TN's WIP Wednesday!
It was amazing that one of those heart shapes on the pantogram landed exactly around the bride and groom in one of the photos. Could not have planned that.
DeleteWhat a stunning quilt, love the addition of the photo's they make it so personal.
ReplyDeleteyou have given a beautiful gift which am sure will be treasured forever
Thanks. It was fun to make. Many other things got placed on the back burner so I could do it quickly. Just goes to show what I really can do if I stop doing everything else.
