Rainbow Charms is finished!
Measures 49" by 63"
I bought the backing last year at Hancock's of Paducah
when I was in town for the Fall Paducah AQS show.
At the time, I didn't have a particular project in mind
but I knew it would make a great backing - and it has.
The stripe I used for the binding has been aging in my stash
for quite a while - again, I knew it would be a good binding
and I'm happy it has finally found its quilt.
Quilted with Glide thread in Graphite (top and bobbin)
using Christina Camelli's approach for
stitching the orange peel design.
I wasn't sure if OP would work for 4.5" finished squares,
but with nice deep curves, the design worked perfectly.
I like the way the design appears, disappears, and re-appears
depending on how you look at the quilt.
I also like how soft and light the quilt feels.
(not weighted down with lots of thread)
As I've shared before, I rarely buy pre-cuts.
The MSQC Cyber-Monday promotion last November
tripped me up on that position -
but I'm delighted with this quilt so it's all good.
(I've since unsubscribed from their emails
so I won't get tripped up again)

This finish counts towards my 18 in 2018 Quilting goals.
I have only two more to quilt for my
St. Louis trunk show on saturated color.
Stay tuned!

Vibrant! It's amazing how the quilting changes the whole look of the quilt. Great finish.
I just love it! The quilting is perfect- it shows off the piecing. I love the Graphite, it is one of my favorites. I also love Nickel, Mocha, Pearl, and Cream Glide. MSQC gets me, especially when the special is Kaffe, Once every couple months is not too bad, so I haven't unsubscribed. Beautiful, beautiful quilt- so full of clear color.

Thank you, Joyce!! I don't have your email so I'm responding here.
So pretty! The backing and binding fabrics are perfect. And I love your OP quilting - really add just the right amount of texture without detracting from all the prints. Beautiful!
This quilt is soaked and saturated with gorgeous colors. I am in awe of your stash and how prolific you are with it turning it into beautiful quilts!!!
This is wonderful!
Nice quilting and finish.
The backing is gorgeous.
I love al the Kaffe colour! And the orange peel quilting is great, adding a little soft texture!
It's a gorgeous quilt. The saturated colors/fabrics are beautifully combined and the quilting sets it all off so wonderfully!
ps, I meant to add that I had to smile at your pre-bought backing and sashing that ended up working out so well. I adore when we end up buying something for a someday, who-knows-what sort of project because 'how can we resist' and then it works splendidly. Such a good feeling!
Oh, so pretty, Julie! The orange peels look great! You must be closing in on halfway to 18 in 18. I also unsubscribed from most fabric emails, and set up a folder for the others so I don't see them all the time. Definitely saves time on deliberation, if not cash!
I think that your choice of orange-peel quilting on this project was BRILLIANT !
I took a simple one-patch design and made it look like curved piecing, due to the fact that the coloration of the pieces blend into one another.
Just my opinion, but I LOVE IT !
Meant to say "IT took", not I took !
The colors, the design and the addition of the quilt design all work so well together. Gorgeous.
A quilt so vibrant, it looks like it would taste like a bag of candy! I'm not buying precuts anymore, either, but charm packs of Kaffe are hard to resist. The fabrics are so heavenly soft and light, too.
Love this throw size quilt Julie, bursting with colour!
what a fun colorful quilt. The quilting really brings it to life!
So pretty!
I actually remember this one! It makes a lovely quilt in the perfect size. Thanks for linking it again for Hands2Help!
