Zuviel ist nicht gut / Too much isn't good

 

... zuwenig ist aber auch nicht gut ... ich spreche vom Regen.

Bei uns hat es seit Wochen nicht geregnet, es ist sehr trocken 

und jetzt im März gibt es bereits die Waldbrandwarnstufe 3.

Und wie ich den Medien entnehmen kann, regnet es in anderen Regionen dafür um so mehr.

Eine gleichmäßige Verteilung des Regens wäre doch für alle Betieligten sinnvoll!!

... but too little isn't good either... I'm talking about the rain.

It hasn't rained here for weeks, it's been very dry, and now in March, 

we're already at forest fire warning level 3.

And as I can see from the media, it's raining all the more in other regions.

Dear St. Peter!

An even distribution of the rain would be beneficial for everyone involved!

Mein kleiner Fuchs hat Glück, bei ihm gibt es Regen und er macht das Beste daraus.

My little fox is lucky, it's raining where he is and he's making the best of it.

If you put a greeting into every drop, the rain suddenly becomes beautiful.

Als Erstes erstellte ich mir den Text am PC und druckte ihn direkt auf die Karte.

Dann stempelte ich den Fuchs (Stampin Up) direkt auf die Karte, maskierte ihn 

und gestaltete den Hintergrund mit Distress Oxides. Ich colorierte den Fuchs mit Alkoholstiften. 

Die Regentropfen zeichnete ich frei Hand. Auf jeden Regentropfen gab ich Glossy Accents,

 damit sie schön glänzen.

First, I created the text on the computer and printed it directly onto the card. 

Then I stamped the fox (Stampin' Up) directly onto the card, masked it, 

and created the background with Distress Oxides. I colored the fox with alcohol markers. 

I drew the raindrops freehand. I added Glossy Accents to each raindrop to give them a nice shine.

Bei der Traumfabrik ist eine neue Challenge gestartet.

In diesem lustigen Film gibt es viele Tiere...

Füchse, Hasen, Ratten, Mäuse, Hunde, Dachse, Hamster, Maulwürfe.... 

Manche davon sind sogar passend zu Ostern ... ;)

There are lots of animals in this fun movie.

Foxes, rabbits, rats, mice, dogs, badgers, hamsters, moles.... 

Some of them are even suitable for Easter ... ;)

Es wird umgegraben / There's digging going on

 

... geharkt, umgepflanzt, neu gepflanzt, zurechtgeschnitten ... 

es gibt zur Zeit einfach sehr viel zu tun im Garten.

... hoeing, transplanting, replanting, trimming ... 

there's just so much to do in the garden right now.

In meinem neuen Pocketletter habe ich den Beginn der Gartensaison festgehalten.

In my new pocket letter I have recorded the beginning of the gardening season.

Zuerst habe ich mir die Kärtchen in die Größe 6,5 x 9,0 cm geschnitten.

Anschließend habe ich alle mit Distress Oxides eingefärbt.

Mit Schablonen, Stempeln und Stanzelementen habe ich jedes Kärtchen individuell gestaltet.

Hier zeige ich Euch jedes Kärtchen noch mal etwas größer.

First, I cut the cards to a size of 6.5 x 9.0 cm.

Then I colored them all with Distress Oxides.

I designed each card individually using stencils, stamps and die cuts.

As you can probably guess, I couldn't have managed all that work alone.

Besides my husband and son, I had two other hard-working helpers.

Für eine liebe Freundin und Schneeglöckchenfan habe ich dieses Bild gemalt.

I painted this picture for a dear friend and snowdrop fan.

Eine weitere Weihnachtskarte ist auch noch entstanden.

Ich liebe es, Weinachtskarten in ungewöhnlichen Weihnachtsfarben zu gestalten.

Wenn wir durch den Wald gehen / As we walk through the forest

 

... wirkt alles noch sehr grau.

Aber trotzdem spürt man, das der Frühling kommt, denn die Vögel zwitschern lauthals.

... everything still seems very gray.

But you can still feel that spring is coming, because the birds are chirping loudly.

Auf meiner Karte haben sich auch ganz viele Vögel in den Bäumen (Renke Manufaktur) versammelt 

und der kleine Fuchs (Stacey Yacula) lauscht ihrem Gesang.

Der Frühling / The spring

 

... legt eine kleine Pause ein.

Die Temperaturen sind deutlich gefallen und in der Nacht haben wir wieder Minusgrade.

Ich nutze die Zeit, um eine Weihnachtskarte zu machen.

... takes a little break.

The temperatures have dropped significantly, and we'll have subzero temperatures again at night.

I'm using the time to make a Christmas card.

Den mit Bäumen geprägten Hintergrund habe ich von der lieben Greta geschenkt bekommen.

Er passt perfekt zu meiner Kartenidee.

Für die Bäume (Memory Box) und den Text (Kulricke) habe ich zuvor Reststücke von Aquarellpapier 

mit Aquarellfarben eingefärbt und nach dem Trocknen ausgestanzt.

Aus dem restlichen pinken Papier stanzte ich noch kleine Schneeflocken.

I received the tree-embossed background as a gift from the lovely Greta.

It fits perfectly with my card idea.

For the trees (Memory Box) and the text (Kulricke), I colored leftover pieces of watercolor paper 

with watercolors and punched them out after they dried.

I also punched out small snowflakes from the remaining pink paper.

Dankbarkeit / Gratitude

 

... ist für mich ganz besonders wichtig, auch wenn die Leute immer sagen: 

'Das ist doch mein Job.'

Mein ganz besonderer Dank ging an meinen Physiotherapeuten 

und an die gesamte Physiotherapiepraxis.

Drei Monate lang war ich zweimal die Woche "zu Gast" 

und gemeinsam haben wir es geschafft, das alles wieder so funktioniert, wie es soll.

... is particularly important to me, even though people always say: 'That's my job.'

My special thanks go to my physiotherapist and the entire physiotherapy practice.

I was a "guest" twice a week for three months 

and together we managed to get everything working as it should again.

Mein Physiotherapeut ist ein großer Katzenliebhaber 

(und hat schon so manches Straßenkätzchen bei sich aufgenommen) 

und so lag es nahe, ihm ein ganz besonderes Bild zu malen.

My physiotherapist is a huge cat lover (and has taken in many street kittens) 

and I wanted to paint him a very special picture.

Dazu kaufte ich noch einen passenden Rahmen.

I also bought a matching frame.

Ok, ein paar anatomische Fehler sind drin, aber das ist künstlerische Freiheit.

Mein Physiotherapeut kommentierte das Bild mit folgenden Worten: "Ist das cool!"

und "So ein schönes Geschenk habe ich noch nie bekommen! Das bekommt einen ganz besonderen Platz!"

OK, there are a few anatomical errors in there, but that's artistic license.

My physiotherapist commented on the picture with the following words: "That's cool!"

and "I have never received such a beautiful gift! This will have a very special place!"

Für das Team gab es ganz viele Blumen.

Ich dachte mir, so ein Physiotherapeut braucht den ganzen Tag viel Energie,

also habe ich Kekse gebacken.

There were lots of flowers for the team.

I thought that a physiotherapist needs a lot of energy all day,

so I baked cookies.

Ich erfuhr, die Blumen haben nicht lange "geblüht" ... 😄

I heard the flowers didn't "bloom" for long ... 😄

Ich bin Euch noch etwas schuldig / I still owe you something

 

... und zwar die Fotos von unserer Reise nach Hamburg.

... namely the photos from our trip to Hamburg.

Ich bin immer wieder gern in Hamburg und auch dieses mal haben wir viel erlebt und gesehen.

I always enjoy being in Hamburg and this time too we experienced and saw a lot.

Mein ganz persönliches Highlight war das Konzert meiner Lieblingsband Alphaville.

My personal highlight was the concert of my favorite band Alphaville.

Am nächsten Abend machten wir mit einer Barkasse 

eine Lichterfahrt durch die Speicherstadt und den Hafen.

The next evening we took a light cruise through the Speicherstadt and the harbor on a barge.

Hamburg wird ja auch als das "Tor zur Welt" bezeichnet.

Das nahmen wir wörtlich und machten uns von Hamburg aus 

auf in die große Welt des Miniaturwunderlandes.

Hamburg is also known as the "gateway to the world".

We took that literally and set off from Hamburg into the big world of the Miniatur Wunderland.

Zuerst besuchten wir Italien.

At first we visited Italy.

... wo gerade ein Formel 1 - Rennen stattfand.

... where a Formula 1 race was taking place.

Nach so viel Aufregung gibt es Ruhe und Entspannung in der Provence.

After so much excitement, there is peace and relaxation in Provence.

Jetzt vertragen wir wieder etwas mehr Trubel und schauen beim Karneval in Rio vorbei.

Now we can handle a bit more hustle and bustle and check out the carnival in Rio.

Und machen ein wenig Sightseeing in Rio.

And do a little sightseeing in Rio.

Die Favelas - The favelas

Nun haben wir Lust zurück in die Natur zu gehen 

und machen uns auf den Weg nach Patagonien.

Now we feel like getting back into nature and are heading to Patagonia.

Natürlich gibt es noch viel mehr Länder zu entdecken.

Wir haben uns aber auf den Teil konzentriert, den wir noch nicht kannten.

Es ist jedes mal sehr beeindruckend!!

Of course there are many more countries to discover.

But we concentrated on the part that we didn't know yet.

It's always very impressive!!

Am letzten Tag hatten wir eine Führung durch die Speicherstadt gebucht.

Diese wird vom Speicherstadtmuseum angeboten und kann ich jedem empfehlen, 

der mehr über Hamburg erfahren möchte.

On the last day we booked a guided tour of the Speicherstadt.

This is offered by the Speicherstadt Museum and I can recommend it to anyone 

who wants to learn more about Hamburg.
