Hello furbulous library guests
and
Welcome to the Mewton-Clawson Library at BBHQ
Thank mew for joining me in the stacks today.
It's been a supurr busy week in the library and all around BBHQ, so sadly there's no Prudence update again today, though I will say it's got pretty wild on the cruise according to my sources. I'll try my hardest to make it happen next week.
But in the meantime, here I am just having a quiet moment of contemplation.
And look, an epic sun spot just for me! MOL
1. ________________________hurts my feelings.
2. Things on my not to do list include _____________ and _____________.
3. _________ is an inanimate object that cheers me up.
4. I wish I could hire someone to _________.
The P.A.'s answers are...
1. ________________________hurts my feelings. Ooooh, I'm not sure I've not got any feelings to hurt at the moment.
2. Things on my not to do list include; not being around people, and avoiding people like the plague. As you can tell, I'm not feeling very people-y at the moment! LOL Cats are where it's at!
3. Hermantrude is an inanimate object that cheers me up. Remember the Highland cow from my Scottish Jaunt last year, Hermy makes me smile!
4. I wish I could hire someone to do the garden, cook and clean, only for a week, while I regroup and get my time back, which has been my biggest bug bear for the last 2 and half weeks. Spitting brimstone is where I'm at right now due to external sources creating a mammoth amount of admin work that had already been done and completed months ago, but due to the level of utter incompetence by third parties, it's turned into a total cluster fluff of epic proportions.
As it's the last Friday of the month, we're also joining in the furbulous...
Supurr Smooch from October 2018.
Long time readers may remember the
Supurr Hero Cape we made in 2017. Oh we did have fun, and Smooch loved running around the garden in it, until he tripped on the cape, no more cape after that! #ohdear MOL
Let's see what I've got to show mew this time!

Whiskers and Lies
Magical Cats Book 13
by
Sofie Kelly
Here's a little snippet of the book blurb:
Librarian Kathleen Paulson is always willing to help a friend, but to save one from a wrongful arrest, she'll need magical backup from her affectionate cats in the newest installment of this New York Times bestselling series.
Baker Georgia Tepper has been hired to provide delicious and spooky cupcakes for the Reading Buddies Halloween Party at the library, and she and Kathleen are meeting to finalize the menu of festive confections. Unfortunately, once Georgia's former mother-in-law ambushes her at the library and threatens Georgia with legal action, the afternoon of fun is soured.
Mew may remember that earlier last year, I rediscovered this pawesome series. I was on a mission to review the entire Magical Cats Mystery series before the end of 2024 - NOPE, that didn't happen! MOL I'm now going to say that by the end of the current review season in July 2025, that should give me plenty of time and I'm almost there! MOL
Here are my previous reviews:
If mew’re in the mood for a cozy cat mystery with a dash of Halloween magic, (yes I know it's only April, but who cares, let's start supurr early this year MOL!) Whiskers and Lies is your go-to read! This charming 14th installment features librarian Kathleen Paulson, who jumps into action to help her friend Georgia when her former mother-in-law threatens her and later turns up dead.
With the adorable magical cats, two of my most favourite fictional dudes, Hercules and Owen, by her side, Kathleen is determined to prove Georgia's innocence. The mix of spooky cupcakes and library festivities creates a delightful setting that perfectly complements the mystery.
The writing shines with lighthearted humour and small-town charm, making the characters come to life. Themes of friendship and loyalty are beautifully woven into the plot, keeping mew engaged and invested from start to finish.
This installment is a whimsical romp that will have mew turning pages and craving Halloween treats, yes, mew can eat Halloween candy in April, because I say so! MOL Whether mew’re new to the series or a longtime fan, this book is a delightful escape, and it's the purrfect Sunday afternoon read!
Another Totally Top Paw Read ~ I Just Adore This Series!
A truly pawesome addition to this wonderpurr series. That's fourteen down and two to go - I'm almost there - woooo hooooo! MOL

I really hope mew enjoy the book if mew decide to give it a whirl!
It's time for me to say BFN or bye-for-now as mew know the drill, so many books, so little time and I'll be back next week with another specially paw-picked book just for mew, and don't forget that all my previous reviews can be found on my Book Review page.
Until next time...
