Sunday ... but this is really my Saturday post!

Morning readers,

I KNOW you are used to seeing a Saturday post from me and I didn't get round to publishing one yesterday. WHY NOT? I hear you cry .. well, Friday saw hubby and I heading toward Manchester where we had the funeral of a dear friend on Saturday morning. Of course, we looked out the window on Friday morning and wondered whether we would even make it!

Following the funeral we dashed home, post haste, as we were hosting a birthday party that same evening - talk about polar opposite occasions. It was a super busy day but, what can you do? We wanted to attend the funeral to support family and friends and we didn't want to let down the two people both celebrating their birthdays - an exhausting day but, on balance, a good day.

Looks like neighbours had a great time whilst we were away too ... building this snowman

Anyhoo, you've probably stopped by to see what I've been making so, I shall take up no more of your time - here's what I've been up to. On Thursday, I took delivery of some  new stash ... a stamp set I've had my eye for quite some while - I hope you can see who I had in mind when I made this!

My card
And a closer view of the colouring

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • One sheet of 8½" x 11", 300gsm, cream card cut in to A2, (tent fold) and the leftovers used to cut the card front and insert
  • Katzelkraft image (*KTZ212 "Les Aviateurs") stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink and, on the image snippet designated for the card front, WOW! super fine clear embossing powder (*) liberally sprinkled and then heat set - to avoid issues with the ink when colouring using alcohol markers
  • AALL & Create stencil (*#28) placed on my card front and then Memento Mediterranean Blue applied through it using an Aldi stencil brush
  • TCP sentiment (S5845-CL) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Copic markers used to colour image and then fussy cut out, dimensional foam tape applied to reverse of image and then placed on my card front
(*) = new stash

Hope you enjoyed the party.

Am sure you're taking it easy today!

I love the aviator and the way you have coloured him Kathy, and the stencilling goes beautifully too. Glad your trip to Manchester and back was completed OK, considering the bad weather you did well, and it was important for you to get there so that was good, and then the party too. You must have been so tired come Saturday. We probably had about 4" of snow so very similar to you by the looks of it. Luckily it is nearly all gone here now. x
