My card |
And a closer view of the paper pieced "frock" deploying my "snippet" |
Materials used:
- White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
- Two pieces of white card cut to fit
- One piece of dusky pink (DCWV linen textured) card, cut to mat
- Paper Artsy image (ZA22) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink, sprinkled with clear embossing powder and then heat set
- I stamped the central part of the image a second time on to a snippet of white card before colouring and fussy cutting and mounting on clear dimensional foam pieces, to give dimension
- Faber Castell polychromos pencils and a couple of alcohol markers used to colour the image
- CardzTV sentiment ("Just Saying") stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink - I purposely left the insert blank as I thought this might fit a number of occasions
- Diamond stickles to add interest and texture to the hat, cupcakes and buttons
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
- Pixie's Crafty Workshop - challenge No. 344 - USE SNIPPETS
- Through The Purple Haze - challenge No. 152 - USE YOUR FAVE COLOUR ... I think the clue's in my blog title .. it's PURPLE!!!

Hi Kathy . . . well, thanks for mentioning Darnell's surprise for Di . . . couldn't resist joining in for my good buddy. I'll meet you round the back of the bike sheds later . . . got a little summin' summin' in my satchel to spice things up a bit!

Kathy, I love 2-handed cake eaters! My kind of people. :-D Darling card. I'm bringing goodies to the party out behind the bike sheds. Are you going to be there, too?
What a hoot this card is and perfectly colored, Kathy! I gotta love a party girl with a cake in both hands and I'm sure Di will love it, too! (I just hope she's also been behind the bike shed and loosened up or you might get a complaint letter from her about how you took a photo looking up her skirt! Well, I mean, you kinda did!) Thank you for participating in this lovely surprise thank you for our Miss Di! Hugs, Darnell
A fun card. Thanks for joining Aud Sentiments challenge. Elaine
Brilliant card, Kathy, fabulous stamp and it looks great paper pieced. Thank you for following my blog. I thought you already were a follower, but blogger does some weird things sometimes. Twice I've found that I've somehow unfollowed a blogger without me knowing. xx
Just fab Kathy and in your fave colour too!
Love this image!
Cake in each hand has to be good - fab stamp. Congratulations on your win too.

Hi Kathy,
what a brilliant card and such a very lovely way to use up snippets too.
Love how you have paper pieced the skirt.
Those cakes look yummy.
Brilliant envelope to match.
Congrats on winning the Snippets Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Wonderful card Kathy - and she's wearing pink!! I giggled at Sarn and the 'balanced die' comment :) A HUGE thank you for your very kind words!
AS I thought, very cold and icy here - no real snow as yet - so have stayed home snug and warm rather than venture to the Post Office. The route I take means the sun hits you full on if you don't go early enough in Winter - and earlier it was all white of course. Len cleared his windscreen and says it's a very deep frost. Hope you manage your travelling OK later this week as more is forecast, sigh.
Hugs
Di xx
