Morning readers,
Woo Hoo, Saturday again - got something nice planned for the weekend? Hope so. We'll be meeting up with friends which will be lovely ... of course, a lottery win would be nice too!
I've been at the ToC most mornings this week so I've a couple of projects to share with you today, the first being an Artist Trading Coin, still loving their cute 2½" format
My Artist Trading Coin |
And the side view, to show the dimensional element |
- Snippets of card in grey and white
- Circle dies in 2½" and 2¼"
- On the white snippet I applied a coating of Distress Ink in picked raspberry and then another layer of ink, applied through the butterfly stencil
- I stamped the butterfly image on to my coloured panel and also on to a snippet of white card (coloured DTP method using Memento rosebud ink) using Versafine onyx black ink, before fussy cutting out the image
- I applied adhesive to the butterfly body only and attached to the image panel
- Once dry I used a paper stump to add "curl" to the butterfly wings before adding a touch of clear adhesive to the bottom wing and attaching it to my image panel - to add strength to the small amount of adhesive holding the butterfly body in place!
- Once completely dry I attached my image panel to the grey ATCoin base
- I used a white Sakura gelly roll gel pen to doodle a border and stardust stickles to embellish the butterfly
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
- Back to Basics - challenge No. 14 - STENCILS or MASKS
- Creative Craft Cottage - challenge No. 112 - PRETTY IN PINK
- Fussy and Fancy Friday - challenge No. 223 - THINGS WITH WINGS
- Creative Fingers - challenge No. 153 - ANYTHING GOES
- Jo's Scrap Shack - challenge No. 256 - ANYTHING GOES
My card |
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope
Materials used:
- White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
- Two pieces of white card, cut to fit
- One piece of black card, cut to mat
- Using low tack tape I masked off a strip on the smaller piece of white card before applying Distress Inks in weathered wood and faded jeans using a mini blender and foam pad
- With the mask still in place I applied faded jeans through a stencil (Tim Holtz mini, from set #5) and then, using weathered wood I applied through the TCW stencil (TCW456s), to give a little more "texture"
- Removing the tape I stamped the Inkadinkado image (60-30496 "meadow") using Versafine onyx black ink and the Hero Arts sentiment (CL342) using Memento tuxedo black ink
- I replaced the tape before applying a quick application of Krylon matte sealant, to protect the water based inks in transit
- Addicted to Stamps - challenge No. 314 - CAS (Clean And Simple)
- Crafty Creations - challenge No. 376 - ANYTHING GOES
- 4CraftyChicks - challenge No. 425 - FINISH THE INSIDE
- CardzTV - challenge No. 70 - ANYTHING GOES

So, with Darnell's "TWOFER" in mind, here's my second card, using the same image but in a different way and for a different occasion - below that (and as per Darnell's instructions) is a photo of them both, side by side. The second card has been left blank purposely, as it's for a commission but I think you can see this is not really a sympathy card.

Very pretty butterfly coin with nice bit of dimension and added doodling.
Love the meadow stamp and the beautifully created backgrounds. Two super cards. Xxx
Such beautiful projects. All three would be suitable for our challenge. Thanks for joining us at Back to Basics and Beyond. Love Dawn x
Your ATC is so beautiful, Kathy! Thank you for the side view to show the lovely dementia! And your Twofer designs are really divine! I love the soft flowing silhouette of that wheat grass image and how you've backed it with unique panels on both cards! Two CASlicious cards and pretty envies!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #10! Hugs, Darnell
What a sweet and pretty dimensional butterfly on your ATCoin Kathy, and the two harvest cards are both gorgeous in the pink and the blue. I love the background stencilling on one and the larger silhouette image, whilst the second has that interesting slanting background ink blending, and love the look of a mass of grass images done a little softer than on the first. Two wonderful cards. x
Can't believe that I have been so slow in finding out about these circle ATC cards. Youre the third person I have found in so many days! Love this butterfly one and your dimension photo shows it off perfectly. Hugs Mrs A.

Both of these cards are just lovely, Kathy. While making sympathy cards is difficult, this one turned out beautifully and will be much appreciated I'm sure. That wheat grass is a great stamp! Your 'commission' card is so pretty in pinks and grays, too. Two great cards. Thanks for joining us at the Twofer Challenge. Bev
