Welcome to mid week!

Morning readers,

Here we are again, half way through the working week ... when I say that I don't mean my working week since I "retired" a number of years ago but, somehow, the weekends always feel a little different to the Monday to Friday thing ..... or is it just me?

Whilst I was rummaging for a particular sentiment (apparently one I WISHED I owned rather than one I actually own, it would seem!!!) I found the Hobby Art set of chickens and was powerless to resist inking at least one of them!!! See if you can see why! As for the sentiment .. I FOUND it, in a Ranger "Letter-It" set, in my head I was looking for CAS-ual Friday, which probably explains how I missed it first pass - DOH! It's turning in to one of THOSE weeks!

My Artist Trading COIN
And a closer view of the colouring and added twinkle
Materials used:
  • Snippets of card in cream and black - both 300gsm and die cut in to a 2½" plain circle and a 2¼" faux stitched circle
  • Hobby Art image (from "Funky Chicken" CS132-D) stamped on to the cream circle using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • I used a set of legs, from the same set, to stamp using Versamagic gingerbread ink, for the straw base
  • Freckled Fawn sentiment (from CL783) stamped in two parts, using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour  the image
  • Marvy le plume alcohol ink (B711) to colour the cream background
  • Kaisercraft glitter gel pens (black for the eye and brown for the sparkle on the body) to embellish
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Pixie's Crafty Workshop - challenge No. 355 - USE SNIPPETS
  2. 2 Crafty Critter Crazies - challenge No. 18 - ANYTHING GOES but MUST always feature a CREATURE

Lately, it just seems my thoughts keep turning to Christmas cards ....... this one's super CAS ...

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White 15cm square, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • One piece of white and one piece of navy card both cut to 14cm square - for the card front and insert
  • To the navy piece I die cut, centrally, a scallop edge circle
  • On a white snippet (larger than the die cut circle) I stamped my wood mounted Inkadinkado image (99457) using Memento tuxedo black
  • Alcohol markers used to colour
  • Stardust stickles used to bling up my image
  • Dimensional foam tape used to adhere my blue panel to my card front
  • On a snippet of white card I stamped my MFT sentiment (CS-83 Hand Lettered Holiday) using Memento Paris dusk ink before using a Sizzix "banner" die to cut
  • Once my banner was cut I used Marvy le plume alcohol marker to colour the banner, to remove the "starkness" of the white card
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-

Great snippets make Kathy - that chicken is hilarious and I get the sentiment as well!Clever :)

And the Santa card is great. That stamp, which I got after seeing yours of course, would be super for really fast cards providing I kept them really simple. Lagging behind here!
