Five of the 7 total blocks that I need for Crossroads are now done! I could have finished all of them yesterday but I got busy doing other things and just didn’t get to it.

More quilting on Fall Harvest was done on Wednesday night – I decided to use a stencil in the 4 patch area – it is a simple stencil and by using part of the stencil it works in the corners and the half square triangles as well

Here is basically the same area with no flash and you can see the quilting better I think.

The four patch area

Thank you for all the compliments on Bird Brain that I have received over the last couple days – I do appreciated it. I am linking to Confessions of a Fabric Addict today and Busy Hands Quilts —

Craftsy supply sale — Makers’ Black Friday, the most wonderful time of the year comes early. Up to 70% off Quilting & Sewing supplies — Knitting, Crochet, and up to 50% off Cake and Baking supplies. I found some yarn to use for the Tunisian Crochet class that I am taking from Craftsy – and what a bargain it was!! $1.98 for a ball of 200 yards of Sprightly acrylic worsted – I get itchy with wool so went with the acrylic but wool is on sale too. If it wasn’t for stocking up on items last month I would have ordered fabric too!! There are some bundles of Holiday fabric for those of you that are making holiday items and plenty of other items as well. And best of all I get free shipping with my Bluprint subscription! Sale is through August 6th!
Karen, Crossroads is going to be so very pretty when completed! I’ve really got to stock up on enough yardage for backgrounds so I can make pretties like you! I always run out before my quilts are the size I want/need.
you know I use to use just plain white, cream, beige – I am having so much more fun doing like Bonnie Hunter and using 50+ neutrals in the background instead – so not I keep a lot of fat quarters on hand for backgrounds or 1/2 yards and have enough from that.
I like the way you’re quilting Fall Harvest, I was waiting to see how you were going to quilt the baskets and squares. The stitches are so pretty too. I still haven’t decided if I’m going to stop at180 baskets or go for the 300. I think I’ll wait till fall and think about it some more. I like a variety of backgrounds on my quilts too. Crossroads is certainly getting finished fast. I’ll check out the Craftsy sale too, like I need more fabric, lol. I passed on going into a quilting store in Florida because I had just ordered another fat quarter bundle for my Herfordshire quilt which was waiting for me when I got home. Enjoy your stitching day.
I know what you mean – I got the yarn but need more fabric
I love those blues in your Crossroads blocks – such pretty shades of blue! Your quilting on Fall Harvest is looking great! It’s always interesting to me how quilting shows up better with less light in the photo. Quilt photography is tricky!
quilt photography is tricky! I have to normally shut all the lights off in the sewing room and shut the blind to get photos on the quilting frame or else the shadow of the light bar above the quilt is in the way and still sometimes it doesn’t turn out how I want it to!
Hey Karen… just slowing down to read your blog today! wowee I love how you are quilting your alternate blocks and your basket blocks on Fall Harvest! This will be fun and move quick too I think… and congrats on getting 5 of the 7 blocks done on Crossroads… best of all I can’t wait to see your yard for your new style of crochet you are learning that you ordered with that great FREE shipping we get with Bluprint subscription… I was wondering if that was still a perk… glad you found out it is!!!

Ooooh, Crossroad blocks are making a stunning quilt!
Hmmmm, may have to consider that block for Rainbow Scrap Challenge next year or to use up strips in the leftovers box.
