Two Kinds Of Quilting

The machine quilting is going ok and so is the hand quilting – if you get tired with one you move to another!

Once I have gotten into the swing of it I started stitching straight lines yesterday on Tic Tac Toe  – I am almost done with the area well into the yellow shown here and will continue more today.

Tumalo Trails I am almost done the ribbon – it is so hard to get a good photo of the whole length though – almost got the ribbon done and then I will roll it down.

I also worked on Bird Brain last night – I finished this bird and started another last night

Oooh, that ribbon on Tumalo Trails is so pretty! Do you start and stop a new thread with each “S” curve? Pass your needle under to the start of the next “S”? Inquiring minds want to know LOL.

I usually start a new thread at each “S” as my needle is short and doesn’t quite reach – occasionally I will go part way traveling and then stitch back over it when I do the quilting but it doesn’t always work right so mainly just start a new knot – how odd that you won that template I show on the give away also – I’m not sure how long I have had it – it seems like forever, I though I would use it at one time and never did.

Yes, your stitches are just lovely, I was just checking them out. All your projects are moving along, love the ribbon you’re stitching too. Are you getting any rain? We’re getting more rain again this morning with cloudy skies. A day of stitching today, yay!

we got over an inch yesterday off and on but no really bad storms here although for a short while the county next to us was in tornado warning – but I think occasionally they do that too much as they cancelled it just minutes later – very cloudy here this morning but in the upcoming days they say all 80’s

Wouldn’t that be Three kinds of quilting: machine, little hand stitching, and Big hand stitching? I’m not sure of their correct terminology. With your dedication to working on your projects each day, you finish lots of projects. I need to learn that.

yes it probably is lol – I guess I was just thinking machine/hand —

tumalo trail shot is AWESOME Karen… so is your progress on both Bird Brain and Tic Tac Toe… I believe you will be binding your weekend away and mailing just in time too! 🙂 Happy belated bloganniversary! I only have a few more blue blocks to make before I start the sashing process… any tips as I never seem to get them right … that is right .. I avoid sashing quilts as I can’t get the cornerstones straight and pretty… maybe this could be a personal response or even a blog post in the near future! lol Kathi

hmm – I will look and see if I have some hints somewhere on sashing – I tend to do it a bit
