These small boats with an aluminium hull, also known as tinnies, are on Coogee Beach in the eastern suburb of Coogee. Behind them is the Coogee Fishing Club and Dunningham Park.

Lilyfield Road Footbridge

Lilyfield Road Footbridge is over Hawthorne Canal where it connects to the Paramatta River, in the inner west suburb of Lilyfield. It was built in 1965, linking Lilyfield Road to Dobroyd Parade, but was replaced by the City West Link which opened to traffic in 2000. It was converted to a greenway with a path for pedestrians and a track for cyclists.

Circular Quay, ship and ferries


A view of Circular Quay from Circular Quay ferry wharf. A cruise ship is berthed at the Overseas Passenger Terminal towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge and a number of ferries are arriving and departing, looking towards the Sydney Opera House.

Surry Hills, shop and apartments

This apartment building with a shop on the ground floor is located on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Rutland Street, in the inner city suburb of Surry Hills. The original three storey building on this corner was demolished in 2016 but rebuilt in the same historic style with a two storey contemporary style addition above. A separate contemporay addition was also made behind it along Rutland Street. The two storey terrace houses along Elizabeth were also redeveloped with three storeys of apartments added above.

Redfern, The Surrey Hotel

The Surrey Hotel is located on the corner of Cleveland Street and Elizabeth Street, in the inner city suburb of Redfern. The heritage listed pub was built in the 1880s in the Victorian Italianate style and formerly known as The Surrey Club Hotel. The former Machinery Co Ltd Factory is located beside it along Cleveland Street.

Haymarket, light rail stop

The Haymarket Light Rail Stop is located along Rawson Place in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. It is part of the CBD and South East Light Rail Service, made up of the L2 Randwick Light Rail line and L3 Kingsford Light Rail line which run from Circular Quay. This tram is approaching the stop from George Street and is on its way to Kingsford.

Forbes Hotel


The Forbes Hotel is located on the corner of York Street and King Street. This heritage listed pub was designed by Sherrin and Hennessy architects and built in 1901 in the Federation Anglo Dutch style. Alterations to a design by M.E. Ross and Rowe were made in 1934. The building was extensively renovated in the late 1980s, when the upper floors were converted from bedrooms to restaurants and bars. The pub has been closed since 2017 and has been awaiting a new lease on life.

Haymarket, Station House

 
'Station House' is a heritage listed commercial building located on the corner of George Street and Rawson Place, in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. It was designed by Ernest Lindsay Thompson and built in 1915 in the Federation Free Classical in style with Chicagoesque design elements. It is now a backpackers hotel and a travel agency on the ground floor.

Haymarket, Mr B's Hotel

 

Mr B's Hotel is located on the corner of Pitt Street and Goulburn Street in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. This historic building was built in the Art Deco style. From 1965 it was the Mandarin Club which featured restaurants, bars and nightclubs until 2009.

Rockdale, railway station

Rockdale railway station is on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line, in the southern suburb of Rockdale. This view of Platform 3 is from the concourse. The railway station opened in 1884 on the line from Redfern to Hurstville. The Tangara or T set trains are a class of electric multiple units that entered service between 1988 and 1995.

A tram on the Central to Dulwich Hill line of the Sydney Light Rail Network has turned the corner from Hay Street into Belmore Park, in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. The elevated railway line beside it carries the City Circle services from Central to Museum and Town Hall stations.

Haymarket, CB Hotel

 
The CB Hotel is located on the corner of Goulburn Street and Pitt Street in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. This heritage listed pub along Pitt Street was built in 1905 in the Federation Free Classical style and known as the Kent Hotel. This modifications along Goulburn Street was designed by Morrow & Gordon in the Art Deco style and built in the 1930s. From 1963, it was home to Chequers nightclub, which attracted a colourful and often notorious clientele. It is now home to Maloneys Hotel.

Chinatown, kiosk

This information kiosk is located in the Dixon Street pedestrian mall in Chinatown, in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. The former seating pagoda enclosure was converted into a red lantern kiosk by Frost Design and Lacoste + Stevenson Architects. "Pao Cha" (to make tea) is the artwork created by artist Pamela Mei-Leng See depicting chrysanthemum flowers left behind after tea is poured, which envelops a red lantern that is illuminated at night. It stands in front of a commercial building called Harbour Plaza which has a restaurant, bar, shops and office space.

St Peters, railway station

 
St Peters railway station is located along the Princes Highway, in the southern suburb of St Peters. The station opened in 1884 and was served by the Illawarra Line to Hurstville. It is now served by Sydney Trains T8 Airport & South Line services. The trains departing on platform 1 head north to the city and trains departing on platform 2 head south towards the suburb of Sydenham.

Bourke Hotel

The former Bourke Hotel is located on the corner of George Street and Goulburn Street. It was built in 1903 and ceased operating as a hotel in the early 1980s. It is now home to the Tequila Hostel and retailer Raben Footwear. The Central Baptist Church is along George Street.

Darlinghurst, substation


This former electricity substation No.6 with underground public toilets is located at Taylor Square between Oxford Street and the intersection of Forbes and Bourke Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. The heritage-listed building was designed by Robert Hargreave Brodrick and built from 1904 to 1907 with Owen Ridge & Sons building the substation and G. D. Getherson the underground public conveniences.

Marrickville, graffiti art

This is part of an extensive mural on a hoarding along Edinburgh Road, in the inner west suburb of Marrickville. This artwork was created by graffiti artist Phibs. Behind it is a development site for a new metro railway line being built from the city to the south western suburbs via Sydenham.

Darlinghurst, rainbow crossing


This progressive pride rainbow crossing has been installed at Taylor Square, on the corner of Bourke Street and Forbes Street, in the inner city suburb of Darlinghurst. It stands outside the former Darlinghurst police station which was repurposed in 2024 as Qtopia, a museum of queer history and culture.

This decorated lift is located in the East Village shopping centre, in the inner city suburb of Zetland. The exterior has been transformed for the annual Sydney Mardi Gras. The 47th annual Sydney Mardi Gras parade is on Saturday and the theme is "Free To Be".

Haymarket, cafe


This former warehouse building is located along Valentine Street, in the inner city suburb of Haymarket. It now houses "A Common Being" which includes the busineses "Outta Coffee" a cafe on the ground floor, "Maillot" a shop which curates street fashion and designer brands from around the world and "Blank Gallery" a dynamic creative art space. This building was previously home to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
