WYSIWYG

What You See Is What You Get. This is a journal blog, an explore-blog, a bit of this and that blog. Sharing where the mood takes me. Perhaps it will take you too.

Menonday Art Vibe; Into The Lowlands

Now we reach the images I took from the visiting exhibition, on loan from Chatsworth Estate. For the first time, a group of some 50 Flemish, Dutch, Early Netherlandish, and German drawings and watercolours, spanning from about 1500 to 1700, was exhibited in Scotland. (To remind yourselves of my general review, read this post.) As these may not be quite as appealing as some of the more colourful works featured in these posts, and because I took so many (!), I will mostly share two items per post for this group. The info provided by each image tells you most of what you require to know.

These will be most appreciated by those of you who have attempted any form of drawing. I have always struggled with the human form. I can do it, but it's a chore for me. When up close and personal with these pieces, it was a marvel to see the simplicity of the strokes and how they come together to produce complex results.

I firmly believe that we all can draw - the marks we make reveal much about us... and that may not always make sense, but it matters not. To externalise something that we cannot necessarily name is therapeutic and needs only to be for ourselves... or find surprise in what we can offer others. I make a shout-out to blogpal Sandra for all her artistic endeavours!

Menoturals; Spruiking Spring!

It's Nature Friday time again and at last I have something fresh to share with you. All these lovely blooms were out as I walked around Falkland Palace gardens. I don't really need to add words... except to say, don't you love the name of this bug-bin?!

It was so uplifting to walk among the daffodils...

Now, it's time to remind you (which I forgot to do last month!) that next week will be FFF time again.
