Book Review: Lily & Thorne

Image
The weirdest way to meet your soulmate – running them over in a snowstorm. A bookstore owner’s life is upended when her car hits a man crossing the road. Little does she know, there’s more to this shirtless stranger than meets the eye – he’s a Lord of the Fae, and he has some tricks to play. My Review This is a quickie read. I liked the concept. Lily and Thorne's first meeting was literally a run in. By this I mean, Lily accidentally ran into Thorne with her car. At least their "meet cute" is one for the storybooks.  I found Thorne intriguing and wanted to get to know him better. So, I kept at this book. Although, I will admit that I kind of struggled to find a connection with Lily and Thorne. For me it felt like the story really picked up and started for me at the last thirty percent of the book.

Book Review: Conflicted Lies

Detective Braxton Hero should keep his distance from me. Even though I can’t seem to stay away from him. Letting him get too close is a mistake. One I can’t stop making. He sees me. The woman I pretend to be, and the one behind the mask. And for the first time, I don’t know which version is real. Even though I’ve spent my life in the shadows, I’ve never been conflicted about who I am…until he blurred the lines. The thought of him seeing my darkness does something to me. He makes me want things. Things I can’t have. A life that isn’t mine to take. A love built on lies. A all-new Standalone in the Vengeful Lies series. My Review Another amazing book from T.L. and Kia. They slay it with their duo writing powers! I am totally and utterly obsessed with these two. Every book I read is a must read. Readers are going to fall hard in love with Braxton. Hope is my spirit animal. This book gets infinity stars!! A must read.  Hope is one strong femme fatale. She makes her own rules and ...

Book Review: Descent into Darkness

Osiris : I’ve been a prisoner of evil ever since the man that took me murdered my parents. He spent decades drowning me in manipulation, degradation, and pain. All the while sharpening his precious killing instrument—me. I was complacent and accepted that this was—and forever will be—my existence. Remembering that I’m nothing but a bringer of pain and death—and maybe an orgasm, if they try really hard before I eradicate their lifeforce. Then, one day it all went too far. I snapped. There are lines that you just don’t cross, and Father crossed it. Making a choice to show Father a taste of what he’s taught me over the years, I set out on a downward spiral. Uncontrolled, unhinged, and unstable. That is, until I met her. The one that changed me forever. The one that showed me emotions I never knew existed in my hollow chest. The one that ended my descent into darkness. Author’s  This is a horror story with explicit content. An extended content list is located on the author’s web...

The Slayer. It’s been centuries since the first time my eyes have feasted on such a tempting sight. She’s been expecting me just as much as I’ve anticipated her.
