Serving Watermelon

Welcome to my blog!  The inspiration for this card came from photo and sketch challenges shown below.  I made the background layer with White CS and Distress Oxide Inks.  I attached strips of paper from my scraps and stamped the sentiment from Repeat Impressions.  I stamped the RI Watermelon stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Distress and Distress Oxide Inks.  Added glossy accents to the seeds.  Fussy cut the melon and popped up on the card with foam.  Just for fun I was going to add some ants but my DH said that ants might make people shudder so I used a friendly ladybug stamp instead.  Used a Black card base to finish.  Colors of Oxide Ink used: Peeled Paint, Fire Brick, Cracked Pistachio, Forest Moss.  I am having so much fun coloring and playing with the Oxide inks....a nice change from Copic markers.

Challenge:
Just Us Girls: Photo Week #403. Fun photo inspired the theme and colors in my card.
Tuesday Morning Sketches: Sketch #412. Theme Embellishments.   I used Glossy Accents to embellish the seeds of the watermelon and the lady bugs.
