What happens when you wake up at 3:30 in the morning and can’t fall back to sleep! For me it is sitting around the whole morning like a zombie barely functioning with one cup of coffee after another. Then finally by late morning I am wide awake, I go exercise, I vacuum, and clean the bathroom. Finally I get around to cutting the sashing strips needed for the Tumalo Trails but I don’t turn the sewing machine on. Maybe today?

Late afternoon before fixing supper I got three baskets cut out and pinned in place for applique. I finished one while visiting with Melanie and another started. I’m not sure how many I have done – around 60 I think. I really need to get a lot of them cut out and stacked up with squares so they will be easy to grab to work on like I have the hexies. So that is it for yesterday as I was writing this at 8:30 last night I was thinking I really should go get a shower and rinse off the bug spray I had to apply before watering the garden and go to bed early. – yes even after all that rain we had over 8 days I had to water drooping plants last night – it has been near 90 so it dries out quickly in raised beds. The tomatoes are suddenly growing like weeds and they will probably all start to get ready at the same time and I will be over run with tomatoes and need to can this year possibly. And finally I will probably regret it but the zucchini has stopped dropping blossoms and I have quite a few growing now I will probably have to start giving some of it away. Too much rain though seems to have killed my basil plants – two of them have dropped all their leaves practically overnight and the other two are not looking great.
Hope I slept good last night!!!
Lack of sleep can sure make you feel miserable. Hope you got more sleep last night. The humidity here has been horrible too. I have huge ferns hanging on my front porch and I am having a hard time keeping them watered. The sun shines hard on them.

slept much better last night and only woke up once and fell back to sleep! feel much better today!
Those baskets have such pretty prints, fun project. Hope you had a good night’s sleep!
I did sleep thank goodness! I get really cranky if it last more than one night!
Little sleep and get up feeling like a zombie ( I call it the ‘walking wounded’) ? You got a lot done for all that… can’t imagine how…. and that makes an awesome role model for your followers.
well when I do not sleep I always have a slow morning where I feel horrible but then by late morning my body just seems to wake up and I get back on track and do what I always do – I rarely ever take a nap – I just wake up!
Waking up at 3:30 almost is the norm for me anymore. Ugh. So I feel your pain! Though sometimes it’s when I dream up new quilts. I’ve just learned to deal with it, and stop fighting it. Thanks for sharing your baskets today on Midweek Makers.
I go through spells of bad sleep always have – I think that is why mid morning or so I just kind of get myself together and go forth with the day – I did sleep good last night so that was great!
Glad you had a good night’s sleep. I find if I do my little baskets in the evening, it helps me to relax and go to sleep without any problems. I had to water my flowers in the front yard before it got any hotter and than lab work for two doctor appointments next week. Seven vials of blood later I’m home thank goodness. Just routine check ups and the dental implants work yesterday was fine. Send your zucchini this way, I love to make the bread and chocolate zucchini cake too, lol! Love to see your little baskets!
I have sleep problems for my entire life – applique in the evening doesn’t help – I have gotten used to it. I hope I am not over run with zucchini usually I am not so should be ok – I am trying to not bake too much right now as one of us is watching the weight and the other watching cholesterol LOL we are missing out on the good stuff 🙁
Lovin your scrappy baskets!
thanks Kathy – I have been moving kind of slow on them lately while I finish up the big quilt top
