Allietare Quilted and Bound

Allietare was Bonnie Hunter's 2015 mystery.  I finished piecing it March of last year and put it away because I didn't love the quilt top enough to pay to have it quilted.  This spring I met a new longarmer who belongs to an online group with me. She had quilted her own tops and some for charity and is just starting her longarm career.  She said she would quilt a top for me, preferably one I did not love as much as my first born child.  I have a closet full of tops that fit this description, but Allietare was screaming the loudest to be quilted.

Denise did an excellent job!  She used an off white thread on the top and a blue on the back.  I have heard of longarmers having a hard time with the thread from the top showing on the back or vice versa.  Denise's tension must have been perfect because there aren't any issues with that on either the top or bottom of my quilt.

I'm very pleased with the quilting on Allietare, and the colors are starting to grow on me. It has a masculine feel despite the orange and yellow in it. I think this would be a good quilt  for one of my cousins or brothers.

I like your colour combination. I do find that Bonnie tends to use very high contrast colour combinations, which you have done with your variation as well. It does look nice on the bed and it will certainly keep someone warm.
