Progress on Quilt

A little more than half way done with the machine quilting on the Scrappy Stars!  I got a lot of work done on it yesterday morning but then very little towards afternoon – it got up to 77 degrees outside – I had to get out and enjoy.

This photo taken when I had three rows of the stars done after this photo I sat down and got one my row of stars done so 3 more rows left to do out of 7.  I trimmed some of the excess out of the way – I wasn’t going to do more then about an hour later sat down and did more.  I hope to get it done by Saturday.  It is just a little too much of a mess in here with the ironing board behind the sewing table to make it set up right.  Because of that I have the sewing table pulled out into the room more taking up more space.

One hexie started while watching the news after Melanie and Aniya left for home.  The cupcake worked out well for Aniya as she did turn her nose up at cheesecake.  But Melanie did like the cheesecake and most of what was left went home with her – I just took out one piece for both Mike and I and she got what was left.   Not much else was done yesterday – I really want to get this star quilt finished and out of the way and then I will get back to the other quilts.  Linking to Confessions of a Fabric Addict , Fort Worth Fabric Studio and Crazy Mom Quilts.

Love how the quilting is coming along on Scrappy Stars, Karen! I am sure you will have the quilting all finished very soon!

it is going quickly but I am trying to sit too long at once doing this or my shoulders/neck start to ache too much – did about 40 minutes this morning and will do again this afternoon and maybe evening – hope to be done with it by tomorrow and out of the way

I do like your stars with the scrappy sashes between them! Good call on the cupcake as well as making the cheesecake to celebrate and then sending most of it away. I love cheesecake but almost never make it because the two of us would be just too tempted to eat it all ourselves.

Yes cheesecake can be way too much for two people – when I make it I try to make one that will not be real large but in this case I knew I could send a big piece home with Melanie – glad she had mentioned last week that Aniya might not like cheesecake I’m afraid I might not have thought of it.

    Yay, three more rows! Boy,
machine quilting goes so much faster than hand quilting. I’m with Aniya, I love cupcakes.Lol. Scrappy Stars is looking good and l really like the bright hexie. Beautiful day here today, a little cooler.

Machine quilting straight lines does go very fast indeed. One more row of stars to go and it is done. Maybe I will do that later today – if not tomorrow for sure
