I had given my hand and fingers a little bit of a rest by not doing any sewing when I was in Houston – well I guess on that last night I worked on a hexie but that was it. There were a few other days here and there last week when no sewing was done. I remember I said I would wait a week or two before jumping in with quilting so anyhow that is my excuse!
The Postage Stamp now! This photo and the next is for my reference so I know how and what rulers I used to mark the border – I write the date of the post down in my little notebook that I keep next to the quilt so I can easily find the info when I get to the second border.
Ok – so that is how I marked – some of the quilting – some of this was done on Monday night and some on Tuesday not all yesterday!
So much for big stitch huh – just can’t do them – also can’t seem to use a big needle!! I am so used to my tiny ones. I had already bent one long one before I got done on Monday night.
More stars added to the wall for the Scrappy Stars quilt but these will be coming down and put in a box – just no room. I made two more yesterday when I had a little time to kill before making supper LOL – easy because the little squares are already sewn together and I had the star parts cut out. At the end of the year I will do a post of all the quilts that I finished this year and what is in progress. I have had a few of you ask and seeing as I do that post at the end of the year for my reference I will wait until then – I will say I have finished about 12 quilts this year I think, some small, some big. Still in progress about 7 or 8 I think – and I think about 3 in my head that I have started there but have not gotten on to fabric still LOL Deb has talked me into starting a basket quilt that she and some others have been making – she just started her and others are finished. I am not 100% sure I will start it but the link will lead you to the type of quilt I am talking about – scrappy of course. Why do I start so many at one time you might ask? I really do not know but I know I do not get bored and I almost always finish them – granted some take much longer than others but most are done within two years of starting (except Love Entwined-my longest running UFO right now – going on 4 years and barely started)
Williamsburg Beauty was turned the opposite way then I had been showing – but I have one border of diamonds now appliqued in place and started the second yesterday. Little by little this one gets done I do want to finish this before I even think of starting the Hertfordshire Quilt.
This is what I have left to use for binding for The Final Frontier – the purple is from the back and the Indigo Blue is from the front – I might just go ahead and mix them for a multi-colored binding – I have no others but 5 inch charms and I am not using pieces that small for binding.

Ok so that is what I did yesterday – what about you? Forgot to mention it was so nice outside so I got some bulbs planted in the afternoon and had a dental cleaning in the morning – I did not do any house work though! Yes I like to stay busy and do not sit still often unless I am sewing or reading.

Let’s see, I did get some sewing done but there are also two big cans at the curb with trimmings, etc from the yard. After pickup today I need to fill them again while we have the two mild afternoons in the forecast as it looks as if we could see snow by Sunday.
it is supposed to be warm all week and might break record high which I think is 80 this week – crazy – we still have a lot of leaves on trees so I will wait until the end of November or the beginning of December and then get the lawn mower out and do it the easy way of mowing and mulching and then rake some up over plants. I heard some in the north might get snow this week – I’m beginning to wonder what kind of winter we will have here
I like your simple quilting design for the PS border. That should make the wool pop out. Checked out the link for the baskets. Depending on the size of quilt you make, that could take awhile. Someone showed a queen sized quilt at the Jane Stickle retreat where they used the same basket design. There were hundreds of them. She didn’t say how long it took to applique them all. I dont’t have the basket pattern just a template for the baskets. I think from what I have the blocks would be around 5.5 inches? something like that. The quilts I have seen close to the queen size I think – should use a lot of scraps like the others that I am doing are – it has really come to the point in this sewing room that scraps must be used.
Finally pulled myself away from working on my first real quilting in my frame.. so loving it! But your blog is so fun to enjoy in my am’s ! Lol
I love how most all your projects have gotten time and attention from you this past week plus all your other projects and a yummy looking dinner too!!!

I saw it in a photo and then decided what size to make it. The center are two inch squares (finished 1.5) The corner squares are 3.5 (3″ finished) the triangles are 3.5 on the sides, 3 inch finished
