Yayas Fall Retreat 2016 plus Plus Block Adoption

This quilt was orphan blocks provided by Twiggy & Opal from Quilting is More Fun than Housework's Quilty Orphan Adoption event.
I added matching sashing on two sides, as if it were a shadowbox block.

Next step is quilting it!

Yayas Retreat

The Yayas went on a quilting retreat to a cabin on Lake Livingston.

Here's a view of the lake from the cabin:

Besides the quilt top above, there was some more quiltin' going on:

Brenda quilted this charity quilt.

And put the binding on her Christmas log cabin quilt.

Brenda also made a few blocks for Kat's October block drive for Covered in Love.

Kris started this block of the month kit and sewed away to create all these blocks.

Retreats are always fun because you get to see new things that other people are working on.  Plus there's all the laughs and nurturing of friendships!

I am so happy to see the orphan blocks become a beautiful quilt! Thank you for adopting...thank you for making a quilt with them! Love the 'shadow' effect. It was a great idea!
