THANKFUL THURSDAY ~ All About The Table, the BadBad Knee and Really Good People

Some may remember when back on February 4, we wrote THE STORY OF THE TABLE ~ I also shared how cranky/crabby mine Mommy had been over the month it had been broken (due to her badbad knee) ~ well, it seemed time to update that story, so here we go, meow.

It works well for THANKFUL THURSDAY, 'cause after all her hissy-fits, things did work out okay, just took some time as most things usually do. Her fave (broked) antique table is now a little half-table, tucked in a corner, happy there.  It took awhile for her to find and order "just the right new table" cause she's so fussy about stuff, and then Mr. James who was going to put it together, we kept wondering why he didn't come do so!  Well, we found out later that poor Mr. James spilled chemicals on his right arm and suffered bad burns, he is good now and we're happy about that.  But we found the amazing Mr. Tony who did the task beautifully and even though the manual said it wouldn't take too long ~ Mr. Tony was patient and kind when it did take a very long time!  So we thank him, a lot!  And she found a great new ergonomic chair which Mr. Ronnie will put together when he visits tomorrow, so now when we sit at the new table to do our bloggie she'll sit in the right kind of chair so she won't have a hurty back or hurty legs!  So we're thankful to Mr. Ronnie, too.  And OMC, very thankful to the good doctor who took care of that badbad knee last week.  No "new knee" needed, not just yet anyway.  He did stick a needle in it, a shot that made it feel so much better, and she has a brace on it for support, and a pretty red cane (I keep out of the way of that!) and is not cranky/crabby now!  So, yes: lots of thanks all 'round here at Zoolatry ... for our new table, the better/better knee and all these really good gentlemen who've helped us out!

I'm enjoying sitting under our new table,
even sitting on top of it when I can.
There's one leg that I tend to "favor" as a scratching post,
but mine Mommy tends to shout at me when she sees me do that ...
that: she is not thankful for!

And the "just for me" bonus, an under the table chin rest for afternoon naps!

THANKFUL THURSDAY

A WORD FOR WEDNESDAY

Three more days.  Then.  The Ides of March.
Somehow, many days feel like the Ides of March.
Ides.  From the Latin word "iduare", meaning "to divide".

THE ENEMY WITHIN

Each and every day, millions of Americans, are being betrayed by the "man who would be king."
By the one they trusted most, voted for, believed in, accepted his lies and disinformation.

Each and every day, these same ~ fellow Americans from across all walks of life, whether rural or urban,
are having their lives upended by the actions of his unelected sidekick, the X-man,
and a cabinet of unqualified and inexperienced officials, blindly approved by an acquiescent congress.

And it is far from over.   Perhaps the closest this man ever came to speaking truth,
was nearing election day, late October 2024, when he, himself often warned about
the "enemy from within", yet never defining that enemy.

Too few really listened then.
Will more listen now?
Now, the enemy is known.

HISTORY

This could've been a Thursday Throwback ... or I could've waited until Friday Flashback time.  But truth is I didn't know what to post to my blog today, so went searching through those oldies-and-goldies files and wow, up popped this rather timely one!

I'm not sure I even remember what these things are ... it's been awhile since I've seen them, you know.  Once upon a time they'd be here often, mine Mommy might scramble 'em, or boil or fry them and lots of the time they'd go into salads she'd like to eat.  I wonder if she misses them.  I think I do, a little bit, the bright and sunny yellow part she'd give me a tiny taste of and it was really good, just a tiny taste.

And I even remember seeing them in a storybook about the Easter bunny, where they were all painted in pretty colors and little kids would hunt for them.  Easter is just 6-weeks away, don't think the bunny will be hiding too many this year.  Even those plastic ones (from China) who wants to have those!  No China stuff please, and anyway, we don't need more throwaway plastic.  Oh, I know: Cadbury Chocolate ones.  Purrfect!

Lots of peoples keep talking about these and complaining, but honestly, looking at the Big Picture right now, even though yes, I'd enjoy a "tiny taste of sunny yellow" again ~ much, much worse stuff is happening. Oh yeah, meow, much worse.

All of normal, everyday life is being scrambled up.

BY THE WAY ~

By the way, that remote remains well hidden.
And I even managed to text Comcast/Xfinity and have a hold placed on all news channels ~
just in the event she ever does find that remote ...
happy is the home where the cat has control.
