The Lemoyne Stars quilt top is nearing completion. I think I will finish the top today, but not positive – depends on what else I find to do with my day. Mid afternoon I had gotten all the rows put together, sides trimmed and the top pressed.

Then before our evening meal I had gotten the two side sashing’s on it.

This is a close up of that fabric – I know some of you didn’t like it but I did and if you look closely at the fabric you can see it has many of the same colors that are in the quilt.

Now today I need to finish and put the top and bottom strips on it and then press again, measure and get the final buttercream borders on it. This quilt is actually turning out a little bigger than I thought I would finish it at and might be close to 80 x 80 and therefore I will not quilt it in the hoop but have it wait for the frame instead – I do not like to do anything bigger than a baby quilt in the hoop – especially in the summer time – too hot sitting underneath a quilt most times unless the A/C is freezing me. I am linking to a lot of places today – Crazy Mom Quilts, A Quilting Readers Garden , Confessions of a Fabric Addict and My Quilt Infatuation (she is having a give away by the way) and to Prairie Sewn Studios.
And a little more done on Winter Wonderland while I was watching a movie with Mike in the living room.

I do like the print you chose. You’ve got lots of things coming together. I really like the stars. I have a feeling we are going to see some red log cabins very soon!
I think I have 5 going right now. Two are at the border stages. I need to buckle down on those so they don’t become UFOs! The one I’m actively piecing is making me crazy. I’m trying hard not to abandon that one. Not sure why I have such an attitude over that one. The other two I just cut so you should see them soon. One is my own pattern which I’ve now written out.
Hope you get to sew today!
I like the border print! 🙂
Love the colour palette on the stars top, it’s looking great!
Well done. I do like the border and the quilt is just wonderful.
I confess that I was a fan of your other border fabric … because I thought with all that light background, this fabric wouldn’t have provided enough contrast. But in the picture of the quilt with the 2 sides on, it certainly does have plenty of contrast. And I like it! Hoping you get it finished today. It’s supposed to rain here (and every day for the next 9 days), so I should be productive quilt-wise.
I love your stars–very pretty and the border fabrics is great! I made a Winter Wonderland quilt a few years ago–some of those blocks are pretty slow going, but worth it in the end. I think the worst part is all the tracing!
I think the quilt is very pretty, the border does looks really nice with the quilt
This is lovely, Karen! It has been a while since I visited and I am glad I did. How big are the stars? This is going to be a beautiful quilt!
I liked the border on your Lemoyne Star quilt before you put it on.. now I LOOOOVE it! Thanks for having faith in your decision… you are there seeing it’s true colors too 🙂
The humidity you are dreading up there really hit us today… it was dreadfully humid and overcast all day! lol Loving your Winter Wonderland stitchery … I will miss it when you finish this part of that quilt! Kathi
I like that border print a lot–it’s such a crisp batik. I’m looking forward to seeing the quilt with the final border.
I do like the fabric, actually. I love the quilt. It’s so nice to see all the stars together.
