This cold weather here in the south just doesn’t want to go away – as I sit here Thursday evening with the fireplace going I have a heavy sweatshirt on and drinking hot tea. Down to 16 degrees maybe and barely 30 degrees for Friday. I am so ready for spring. I think all of us around the US is saying that – or at least most places in the US.
I finished the row I was working on for my hexies on Diamonds are Forever – two more rows left to do and I took last night off of that and worked on stars instead. Needed a break from hexies I think but not a long one I do want to finish that top. I just pushed the basket holding the hexie quilt aside for the night.I am linking to A Quilting Reader’s Garden today and Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

Lemoyne Stars – added the dark purple in the middle row on the right – these are hand pieced using Inklingo.

Here is another one I am in the process of – at all times I only use one pin and sometimes not even that – mainly just use the pin when I am working on the Y-seam.

I will get back to the tumblers on the wall and Love Enwined – but I want to concentrate on the quilts almost finished first and get them finished!! Most evenings I work for a little while – 45 minutes to an hour and a half — on the Kansas Twister.

I wanted to show the little kitty – the tea ball that I had lost part of the chain so I went searching for a new one for loose tea and found this cute one at TJMaxx the other day – the kitty is suppose to sit on the rim of a cup if you are doing one cup at a time but I think most of my cups are too thick as I haven’t found one in the cupboard yet that it works that way on – that’s ok – I just let her hang there! I found a new herbal tea that I just love – I normally do not like herbals but this one! Ginger and Liquorice. Yum – I need to order a bigger bag – I had ordered two small sample packages so I would know if I like it – I do! big package needed. For those interested I get my tea from an on line company called Harney & Sons Fine Teas – I just like their teas I’m not affiliated, just a satisfied customer. You can also find their teas on Amazon but I don’t find it that much different in price.

So many bright and pretty projects and colors. That little kitty is adorable!
Cold here again as well. Four degrees. The little grands were freezing when they arrived awhile ago!
Cold here, too with sub-zero wind chills. Brrrr But the good news is that we’ve got a warm up coming! Mid 50’s on Tuesday … the highs won’t be below freezing for the next 10 days (after today, that is). Maybe Spring really is coming!
Your LeMoyne Stars look great. You are much better at piecing them than I am!!! I am currently handpiecing that block and I have to use at least two pins – beginning and end of row. I am so slow; it takes me a long time to finish up one small block. On the plus side, I am listening to a wonderful book on tape while piecing, so I don’t mind how long each block takes me!!
Well, Ok – 16 is pretty darn cold for you guys. We got up to 26 yesterday and people were almost going out without their coats — it felt like a heat wave! Back to -3 on the way to work this morning. I do love these crisp sunny mornings though! I LOVE those Lemoyne stars. I really need to get mine back out. I’m doing EPP but I really think I’d like hand piecing them better — EPP is a little fiddly to me and it’s hard to keep the stitches hidden.
I’ve gotten so used to the cold that I’m now walking again. The other day it was in the low 20’s and windy but I walked. And then yesterday it was around 31 and it felt balmy. 21 days until spring!
Wow! That’s a lot of tumblers. They look so colorful and so do the stars. You’ll be done in no time with all three projects. It does sound so cold over most of the US. When Spring comes there will be a lot of thanksgiving going on. Thanks for linking to WIPs Be Gone. I enjoyed coming here and seeing all your eye candy!
What a wonderful quilt studio you have… the design wall looks amazing!
Love seeing all your projects together on the wall especially.:)
Charming Lemoyne Stars. The pale yellow background makes your stars pop nicely. I look forward to seeing your progress.
