Progress on the Scrappy

No name for this quilt Smile so Scrappy it is for now – a name will come to me when I start to quilt it I’m sure.

I got the vine glue basted down and sewing has started.  It didn’t all get basted quite as I had wanted it – when I put the circles in I hadn’t quite looked at it well enough and some areas were just too narrow to put the twisty vine – some too close to a seam and some would have been just about off the quilt and into the binding area – that is ok though – I’m sure it will all look fine in the end – it is a scrappy quilt and never intended to be a show quilt!

I didn’t think to take a photo of the whole quilt and now it is on the sewing machine with the needle in the down position and I’m not taking it back up right now.  It will certainly take awhile to do the applique stitch on both sides of this vine – that buttonhole stitch takes awhile doesn’t it if you are not doing a straight line you have to go slow.  This will be a couple days in the works at least.  I am linking to A Quilters Readers Garden today and to Confessions of a Fabric Addict and to Crazy Mom Quilts – don’t you just love sitting and seeing all the eye candy when you have a break from your daily chores!

And a clean table! I don’t see that very often – I’m sure it will be messy again in no time at all.

Love it!!!! That vine really finishes it off nicely and, yes, that blanket stitch does seem to take a while……maybe cuz the end is in sight? LOL!

I have enjoyed following the progress of this quilt. That blanket stitch seems to take forever, especially on something long like your vine. I was thinking this quilt could be called Square Dance as those circles just dance (in my eye) around the center. Thanks for sharing.

Love the scrappy quilt and the border you are working on. It will look great when finished.
