Lemon Essential Oil
I love lemons and the smell of lemons. Last winter I got a whole box of Meyer lemons in the mail as a barter with a friend. They were one of the most wonderful things about my whole winter.
One lemon tree can produce maybe 200 lbs. of fruit in one year which will yield about 1 lb. of essential oil-– that’s approximately fifteen hundred lemons to make one pound of oil!

Cautions:
It should not be used undiluted directly on the skin as it can cause skin irritation. It should be diluted in a carrier oil with 5 drops or less to a tsp of oil. Lemon is also a citrus oil and can cause sensitivity to the sun, so it should not be used on the skin in the presence of sunlight.
Remember essential oils are a very potent form of the plant and should not be used directly on the skin or ingested internally without the guidance of a trained aromatherapist.
