Can’t Keep a Quilter From Quilting

Craftsy got back in touch with me and thanked me for letting them know the link wasn’t working for ordering the Kona Cotton yardage and said they are working on it – if you want to order any of the Kona Cotton the customer service person said for some reason you can order through Google Chrome but not Firefox or Safari – just on that link for the Kona Cotton for some reason.  The rest of the site is working on any web browser as far as I know.

I’m just going to wait for the link to work before I order any as I am no in a rush – I really don’t feel like basting and machine quilting at the moment– I have plenty to work on in the meantime – I don’t know if any of you remember but a couple weeks ago when I started the Stairs Through the Stars quilt I had thought to combine two patterns into one and it didn’t work out –I had already started some blocks for the quilt that I didn’t use for that pattern.  So yesterday I started to put that quilt together.  I think this one will be a baby quilt not a large quilt.  I have been told by more than one of you that I put quilts together quickly – well we all know some hang around forever when I hand piece! but one reason some of this goes together quickly for me is that I am using my pre-cut squares that are in my scrap boxes – I just need to dig through and find the colors I want.  The scrappy patchwork on the left side of the design wall is what I am working on right now.  I will put a border of something around it too.  I am pretty sure I will hand quilt this one – I like to keep several small hand quilted quilts on hand and I have no small extra ones on hand at the moment.  They do not last long in this house.  The quilt on the wall is Love Entwined which is at rest for the time being – I really do plan on getting back to it but most likely not until fall.  I’m linking to Whoop, Whoop Friday at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

This is the pattern from the book.  I like the one in the book so far better than mine though and I’m thinking possible of taking out the squares with the half square triangles and just go with patchwork!  I will wait of course until I have more patchwork blocks done – I think it is the colors – I might need to replace the hst blocks or leave them out!  Or I should have strings of the same color going through the 16 patch blocks like are in the book.  Either way I decide the blocks will get used up one way or the other!

More work on Insanity Revisited.  The gray things are compression gloves for arthritis – I am trying them out but I haven’t decided if they are doing anything – I’m surprised though that my hands haven’t gotten too hot with them on.  I will keep using them for awhile and see if they are helping my hands any – I just really can’t tell right now.

More rainy cool weather yesterday but now the weather says it will get hot for awhile – the grass needs cutting again and I broke the rain gauge by accident so I don’t know how much rain we have gotten – not really a lot – just enough to keep from doing outside things all that much.

I really need to spend time this weekend printing out more mini tumblers for the Tumbling into Insanity quilt  with Inklingo and more hexies – I am running really low on white hexies for the Diamonds are Forever quilt – the row I am working on it is about half way done I have enough to finish this row – I think but doubt I have enough to finish another row – I most likely need at least 100 to 200 more white hexies.  I still need about 600 plain tumblers and 600 print – so I guess I better get busy with more prepping – printing and cutting.

Getting hot here again too and ditto for my grass! 🙂 Those colors are so bright and pretty / whatever you do will look great.

I am interested in if you find those gloves helpful. I would get some if they help even a bit! Your Love Entwined is spectacular… look forward to hearing more about that project in the fall!

I can’t wait to see what you decide to do with that scrappy patchwork. I’ve got a few leftover blocks from some of my grands’ baby quilts. I ought to get them out some day and see what I could do with all of them (although if they were done in my colors, they probably wouldn’t have sat this long – ha!).

Amazing how one quilt leads to another which leads to another isn’t it! lol Love all your quilty blog and here is to thinking about do they even have the dies in the sizes you need with an Accuquilt? I know you mentioned thinking of one the other day… I truly don’t think it would get enough use from me.. but I have a friend who has one and she loves it! lol Have a great weekend! Maybe that link will work for you by next week to order your white. Kathi

The baby quilt on the left is my favorite. It’s really quite colorful!

Not sure about the hst either but think it will work ok the further along you get. It does seem that one quilt is the “spring board” for the next!!!!! Love them all!!!! Hugs………….
