I haven't had much time lately to get any real super images of different fences, so this'll have to be it for this week. It's found behind the main library in the downtown area...

...a few weeks past to get up close and personal to the Brown Booby Bird, I took this photo from the boat looking toward the high rise buildings and the painted sky along the seawall; reflecting off the mirror-like bay water.

These are different squirrels, on different days while we're out birding. I loved watching the comical antics of the one in particular in the mulberry tree. Notice his stuffed cheeks in the larger image. And then, the notched ear in the very last image in the series of photos.

What a beautiful shot of the city from the bay, and I love the cheeky squirrels. Makes you wonder how the last got the notch in his ear; fighting with a blue jay for nuts perhaps?
ReplyDelete,,,maybe a mama mocking bird since we don't have blue jays this far south.
DeleteCute little guys! I hate anything that is locked, except our house when we're in it at night.
ReplyDelete...if you lived in a high crime area, locking makes sense. Even tho break-ins can still happen, at least your home insurance will be easier to collect.
DeleteOMW It's been an age since I visited Annie. I've been in SA where I don't seem to get much blogging or visiting done! However, I'm back in Tanzania and visiting YOU. Lovely shot and reflections of the city over the bay. The squirrel is sooo cute. Greetings, Jo
ReplyDelete...it's good to see you here at my humble abode Jo!!
DeleteA pretty reflection shot! Love the cute squirrels. Great fence find! Have a happy day!
ReplyDelete...thanks Eileen. I loved your post today also...the rainstorm image especially.
DeleteI love watching squirrels. They are so entertaining. The one that used to hang out in my front yard hasn't been around in a couple years.
ReplyDelete...hope it didn't get hit by a car...or captured by a dog. You know what I mean.
DeleteYour squirrel pics are cute. We get a lot around here and they sure are fun to watch running around!
ReplyDelete...indeed they are fun to watch.
DeleteHi Anni Great close up of the locked fence and stunning reflection in the water. the squirrel is very cute. I love shots of them.
ReplyDeleteNice closeup of the gate, beautiful view of the city, and who can resist a squirrel. Love that first shot.
ReplyDelete...that first squirrel shot was in our pecan tree...taken through the garage door window. lol
DeleteCute squirrel photos. Please keep them there and not in my backyard. lol
ReplyDeleteI don't mind 'em at all...but for one thing...we have pecan trees coming up all over the yards. lol
DeleteIsn't it fun to watch the squirrels. One would think we would have many around our property with all the oak trees but the first 4 or 5 years out here, we never saw any. It is just in the past few years we see 1 or 2. Anyway, love you photos of those little furry aerial acrobats.
ReplyDelete...thanks Florence
DeleteI don't see the squirrels around my place much any more since I stopped feeding the birds on my front porch. They were always there before. I love seeing yours, Anni. :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoying them from some one else's yards is good too.
DeleteI always love to watch squirrels...we had one that came here and called her Mama Squirrel...I got her till she would eat from my hand, she always came to the back door looking for a handout...she lived in our big maple for at least four or five years, raised two sets of babies every year. Talk about adorable...we at one time had two dogs. She knew which was dangerous.
ReplyDeleteThen Sarah took that dog home with her, and left our other dog...Mama Squrrel would go up to her and smell her...knowing she would not be hurt.
...that is an amazing tale...the squirrel knows.
DeletePesky boogers, but so cute. Love the view of the water with the tall buildings of the city in the background.
ReplyDelete...thanks Terri
DeleteThat's a good shot of the fence and gate....
ReplyDeleteWe had so much trouble with squirrels eating our electrical cords and etc. when we lived at the olden house...lots of pecan trees in the neighborhood brought out waaay too many of the little pesky critters. :)
I can only imagine!! I don't think I'd like 'em all that much either if they started going to the wires.
DeleteWow, I feel the lock on the gate is really retro type. Loved the way building reflected SO beautifully♡♡♡
ReplyDeleteSending you Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
....indeed.
Deletelocks can make for good neighbors,too...nice photo of the water and skyline and of course I do have a place in my heart for the squirrels.
ReplyDelete...love or hate 'em...they're all too cute.
DeleteThe people here call them tree rats! The locked gate serves its purpose, though not lovely to look at.
ReplyDeleteya, I've been known to call them that also at times.
Deletesqurrels are so darn cute - at least! :)
ReplyDeletehey, a fence that does the job is a good fence. :)
Yep, yep, yep...I agree darned cute.
DeleteAny fence is a good fence. :) Nice reflection image. Looks like the squirrel found himself a feast!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Good Fences #10
~Lindy
...ya, the multitude of mulberry trees around the vicinity keeps them fat and active in the Spring.
DeleteAt least you got a fence lock. I had no lock but I did manage to put up something.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all other pictures.
Carol Ann
...thanks Carol Ann ---I think your fence in front of that house is perfect.
DeleteThat locked gate will keep intruders out!
ReplyDeleteLove the squirrel shots.
...if they want in badly enough they'll find a way, locked or not.
DeleteThanks Pat.
a great reflection and those squirrels are so cute! They look very well fed!
ReplyDelete...with all the Mulberry trees, they ARE well fed.
Deletelove the lock pic and cute little guys.
ReplyDelete,,,thanks Sandra
DeleteWe have a yard full of squirrels. They are puny, compared to the squirrels I grew up seeing in Ohio, but still fun to watch as they run from tree-to-tree. When I throw nuts out for them, they are gone in an instant (it seems). They build sturdy nests in our trees and chatter at each other (and us). Great photos!
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't have to feed ours...the pecans are for the taking from the tree and then of course the bird seed.
DeleteThose squirrels...lucky for them they are cute. Love the one with stuffed cheeks. Too cute!!
ReplyDeleteIt was going berserk that morning from on berry to the next!!
DeleteA simple fence but the focus on the lock is what makes the shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool water reflection shot and oh my goodness those squirrel photos were darling. Loved his chubby, stuffed cheeks.
...thanks Ida
DeleteCute little squirrels- our 9 month old dog is so excited by them he almost comes out of his skin when he sees one. I hope that changes soon!
ReplyDeleteAnimals can communicate, someday he'll tire of it I'm sure.
Deletesimple, yet effective..
ReplyDeleteI recognize your blog name from other sites I frequent...hiya....
I'm glad you stopped by...do come back to visit, any time!
DeleteI know many find squirrels to be a nuisance, but I think they are so darn cute! Love those fat little cheeks. lol! That's a great reflection shot, too!
ReplyDelete...me too Cheryl...they're just fine by me...no troubles at all. But I'm sure my tone would be different if they'd chew something up that was expensive to repair or replace.
DeleteThanks.
Great job on your photos. I've never heard of a brown booby bird.
ReplyDelete...thanks Ruth...
DeleteI'll share a link to the booby birds photos in your comments.
Those squirrels make me laugh - they are such curious fellows!
ReplyDelete...that, they are.
DeleteGood pictures.
ReplyDelete...thanks Denise....how are you feeling today?
DeleteI love the squirrels! I know that many people are not too crazy about them, but I actually think them funny, smart and very entertaining. Every day I have at least three of them in my garden - munching away on the bird seeds of course!
ReplyDelete...that would be a true delight to have so many at one time to watch.
DeleteThat little guy on the left looks like he is resting so comfortably.
ReplyDeleteLOL...I think he spotted me through the window.
DeleteHi Hootin Anni,

DeleteLovely, peaceful skies and I do love your squirrels!! I have three that eat on my windowsill every day -- all day!! I'm such a sucker for those cuties and keep the food trays full!! Have a great weekend, Anni!!
ReplyDelete...that is awesome that you feed 'em. I'm sure they look forward to lunch.
DeleteGreat out and about photos. A friend recently sent me a picture of a black squirrel she saw in her hometown in NJ.
ReplyDeleteHugs madi and mom
...we used to see them in Colorado...but not here. Bummer
DeleteGreat photos! Love your squirrels! I actually came over to your blog when I posted the Redstart & broadbill photos, looking for Bird d"Pot because I knew that was yours, and many people link to both. When I didn't see it, I thought I was mistaken...not realizing you post on Saturday. So, I( will definitely link in tomorrow! Thanks for the invite!
ReplyDelete...hope to see you then Marie.

ReplyDelete...thanks!!
DeleteI do like the squirrels - and locks (especially rusty ones) make for great images.
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
...thanks Stewart
DeleteI'm loving the squirrel! Not something I'll ever see around my neck of the woods
ReplyDelete...thanks Carole...if only you and I could trade some squirrels for your wonderful, colorful, birds!!
DeleteWe don't have squirrels here and if I saw one in another country I'd be delighted. They look so comically cheeky at times (no pun intended!).
ReplyDelete...they're cute and fun to watch. Definitely.
DeleteAnni, just stopping back to say thank you for linking up to the critter party.. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDelete...thanks for hosting Eileen...much appreciated.
DeleteI'm enchanted by the pretty green foliage backgrounds as well

ReplyDelete...thanks Adam.
DeleteWonderful reflection and cute squirrel shots.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend, Anni
...thanks Lina
DeleteThe squirrels are adorable. It's always fun to watch them.
ReplyDelete...they are indeed fun to watch.
DeleteSquirrels are always eating! Except when they are chasing each other.
ReplyDelete...you're so right!!
DeleteI love the lock and of course the squirrels. But aren't all squirrels cheeky? Looks like you have Fox squirrels down your way too, big critters that like to put on a show.
ReplyDelete...I think we only have red squirrels...the one that looks large was photographed with a zoom lens.
DeleteGreat reflection shot ....
ReplyDeleteSilly squirrels :-)
diane @ thoughts and shots
You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers Diane.
DeleteLovely squirrels!
ReplyDeleteIn answer to your questions regarding Will boxes. Yes, every county in the entire U.S. should have these available. They are public record. Check with the Circuit Clerk or County Clerk in the county you want to research. There is a fee in our county if you don't do it yourself and I would assume the same for other counties and states. I work at the courthouse, so see people coming in all the time doing genealogy research. Divorces, probate cases and wills are popular. We have them back until our courthouse burned in or around the 1860-1880's. I can never remember when.
ReplyDeleteI love watching squirrels. I had the pleasure of one climbing up onto my lap, waiting to be fed! Love your pics as always, Anni. Here's mine to share - http://ofmiceandramen.blogspot.com/2011/10/st-james-park.html#comments
ReplyDeleteoooooooo, I love me the squirrels. They are the cutest!!!
ReplyDeleteYour photography is SUPERB!
