WORLD'S LONGEST YARD SALE FAVORITES

The countdown to the World's Longest Yard Sale continues
I am going to show you a few of my favorite finds
I am also linking in with these parties!!
and

2008 was my first WLYS and Mr ALC and I decided to
have some fun.  We decided to find each other a gift and set a limit of $10....I had an idea of what I wanted to get him and
looked and looked.  I finally found my 'item' and who should wander up to me but Mr ALC himself.  I had to walk away from my find and hope I could get back to it.  He finally wandered away and back I went.  It was still there, wrap it up quick I told the guy.
I know you are thinking, a coffee mug?
And a very plain boring one at that.
nope....Mr ALC use mug soap to shave and
had his in an ugly chipped coffee mug
This is vintage Homer Laughlin
and just the right size for mug soap...he loves it and uses it all the time.  A great reminder of our first WLYS!

Now Mr ALC bought me the following
On this first trip one of the items on my list to look for
were individual creamers, hence the cute peach pitcher
He also got me this great Swiss Army Knife as he said
every woman should have one!  I love them both!!
A few random items
4 fire king white bowls, a milk glass hat and
a small pitcher
Don't forget if you want me to shop for you
to enter HERE
You only have until Sunday noon Aug 1st to enter!
So if you want this crazy lady
Shopping for you don't forget to enter
We did not buy this sombero but Mr ALC enjoyed
taking my photo in various hats that weekend!

Always,
Linda

What a lot of fun!!
So - Mr ALC uses mug soap - so does my dad. What a time we had flying with my dad. Every time we went through security, some young fellow would get all worried about the shaving soap and pull my dad aside. Poor dad would sit and wait until they could find someone who knew what shaving soap was and allow him to continue on with him....Seattle, San Fransisco and Santa Barbara....what a production!

What a delightful sombrero!! I would so LOVE to go to that worlds longest garage sale one of these years. I told my sisters about it, cuz I think it would be fun for us to do together.

Hi Linda Sweetie...
I tried to enter your link to list something I would love for you to search for me. I have always wanted an egg scale. I think they are just precious. Could you email me privately? stoneshy@msn.com

I love, love, love your pricelss photo in the sombrero and what a wonderful thing to have a little limit and go out and search for something special for each other. I love it. I have watched this on the TLC or HGTV channel and so envied all the folks getting to go. What treasures you will find. Take lots of pictures sweetie. That is the only way I would ever get to go.

Thank you for sharing today. I will be praying for you a safe journey.

Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Hi Charlie! Mew are not going on the WLYS are you?!? I try and make myself scare on that day because "she" is always trying to convince me that I should be "her" traveling buddy....nope, no way!! So be very careful, you never know what the heat can do to their common sense.....

BTW I am loving your new look!!! It hasn't been that long since I've visited, has it?!?!

Well little buddy, stop by anytime, I'll save you some creme! And bring your creamer and you can even take some home!!!!

Have a wonderful week!!!

Are you taking Charlie?

You got some milk glass - I know you like that and will look for more.

You have a great sense of humor.

Linda, I REALLY want to go to this! I can't talk my husband into it. He said we'd just be stuck with me looking through the first five or so stops all day long! He's probably right. I'm one of those people who thinks they are going to miss a real treasure if i don't look at everything. You have found some great treasures, and I know you are going to find a lot this year too. The $10 gift was such a fun idea, and you both did a good job with your gifts. You look so cute in that sombrero. Thank you for linking to Favorite Things Sat. laurie
