May for ME!

It's been a week of Remembering.
I heard from all of my children on Mother's Day.
Some called, a few posted fun pictures on FB and left messages for me there.
I hear from a few of them almost every day.
That makes me Happy!

Last week I posted the Picture of my Snowball Tree weighed down by the heavy blooms.
DH cut off the heavy branches and it sprang back up.  It looks 'Butchered'. But it will grow back.
There was quite a mess left on the ground- right pic.

DH took me to choose some flowers to put in the front Walkway.
I chose Purple Pansies and Yellow Snap Dragons!

My #2 Son thought I needed a New Snowball.
Joe brought his family to visit on Mother's Day.
Because my Stove quit working we had to use the Crock pot.
(there's a long story, I won't tell here)
A brand NEW Stove is in my Future...it gets delivered next week.
I've never had a smooth top.  YEA for no more cleaning the elements!!!

I spent a day reading the last book in this series.
Can you say triple Hankie read???
I couldn't put it down.

I spent a day with my Niece making Strawberry Jam.

Today I get to go watch one of my Grandson's Play Baseball.
That's how I am spending May for ME...

  1. You're going to love the smooth top stove. I've had one for over 11 years and it's a breeze to clean as long as you clean it after every use. My smooth top is white so it's very easy to see the little spots of burns. I use the liquid Barkeeper's Friend to keep it clean.

My mom had a snowball bush and she would cut it back every year. It was always so full and beautiful.

  2. My daughter has the smooth top - love it, a must in the new place for sure. I don't have luck with snowball bushes - our ground is very clay heavy (and rocky).

  3. Looks like you time is being well spent, Mary!
I have a black smooth-top, too, and I am glad I got black.
My snowball bush took years to get well-established (we are in heavy clay soil), but now it does really well. I've never heard of cutting them back each year. Wonder if I should try it?

  4. It's great to have your kids call home isn't it? Both of my kids called as well although I missed one of the phone calls as we were walking in the woods with my Mother in Law.
