Seeing as I neglected Patchwork of the Crosses on Tuesday I made sure to do some quilting on Wednesday and Thursday night. Made some progress. This is the 4th row of blocks that I am working on out of the 7 rows in the quilt.

Last night this is the section I continued to work on – the gray and pink block.

I got all the circles prepped and glue basted in place for the 3rd border of the Granny’s Got Style quilt and I’m taking that with me to the quilt group this morning to work on. Here it is stretched out drying while I was gluing the circles.

Normally I get all my comments on each blog post and also in my in basket of e mail. If you have sent me a comment that needs a reply and I haven’t answered try again – the last week I have noticed that not all comments are coming to my e mail program so I might not have noticed them. I think all have gone to the give away though as I have been checking to see if anything needs to be approved. The giveaway has now reached 100 comments! Go to this link to enter to win the Prairie Point Pressing tool – winner selected by random number generator on April 1st.
Due to some kind of pricing settlement for kindle books that had been overpriced I got a note from Amazon saying I had a credit for my account to use for books! this can be either kindle version or paper copy – does anyone have any quilting book that they think I need to take a look at? I already purchased several novels but have enough credit left for a quilt book or two. I wonder on some recommendations. I have read the reviews on some quilting books and I’m surprised that some are not recommended at all – interfering that they are the “same old same old” – well I guess I shouldn’t be surprised as I have found some to be like that too! Keep in mind I am not interested in machine work all that much – any book recommendations for hand work would be much appreciated especially those with great patterns!
I am linking to Confessions of a Fabric Addict today.

Good for you to get back to your POTC … I’ve been ignoring my Storm at Sea in favor of my hexagons. Since I’ve ordered the fabrics for DD’s quilt, that pretty much guarantees that I will not get my SaS finished before time to start on her quilt. Well, not unless I give up eating and sleeping. ha!
Glad you got your 100+ comments on your giveaway.
Lovely hand quilting.
Congratulations on almost 7 years of blogging! That is quite an achievement!
Love that long border.
You know how much I love that PWOC. It’s coming along beautifully.
My friend Lori Holt of Bee In My Bonnet has two new books out: Quilty Fun, and Great Granny. I’ve made projects from both of them, and they are well written and have bright happy photographs.
Ahhh, your POTC! My favorite quilt of all time!! You certainly are making progress on it! It will be finished in no time, and it’s looking more and more beautiful!
I just love the quilt you have on your quilt wall! Wish I could get a copy! Love your work!
So !happy your POTC is coming along so nicely! You are really trucking on that one. I love how you show your process for glue basting. Any info on needleturn is greatly appreciated… I am taking a class next month. So happy you got so many comments for your giveaway! You are popular! lol Kathi
You know my # 1 recommendation is Barbara Brackman’s Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns followed close behind by Old Patchwork Quilts And The Women Who Made Them by Ruth Finley. They are both wonderful historical resources. Take care, Byrd
Lori the quilt on the wall is called Love Entwined and is a long way from finished – I sent you a link to it.
Byrd how I wish I could afford Barbara Brackman’s book – out of print – used the lowest price is $119 and new is $398!!!
Hi Karen,
Your POTC is so beautiful!! I love the spring-colours. They give such a pretty feeling to it!
And I saw a “patient” Love Entwined on your designwal…? 🙂
About your question about any quiltbooks: have your thought about the recent book by Di Ford: “Primary Quilts…. 19th Century Inspirations”. It has beautiful patterns of old quilts and some of her own patterns; including the Phebe-quiltpattern, the Antique Wedding Sampler, the Burnt Quilt….
I love this book!
Good look in finding the right one for you!
Love from the Netherlands, Ria.
Hi, Karen. Just stopped by from Sarah’s blog. That Cross quilt is a knock-out! Impeccable workmanship and the turquoise brings it to life. LUV the name for your WIP border!
best from Tunisia,
