Hand-Me-Downs...

I love receiving items that belonged to someone else, especially when it's someone in my own family. My grandmother (Mother) sent this pot to me...

It belonged to her mother, my great-grandmother, Nanny. The weathering of the green paint just makes my heart skip a beat...

I absolutely adore this hand-me-down and can't wait to see the dessert rose bloom that's planted inside.

It definitely completes this corner of our yard!!

Thank you Mother :)

I'm linking up to these Wednesday's parties:

Wow that's weather well, it's always seems somehow bittersweet to come by a possession becasue it has outlasted its owner.

Beautiful pot. I have a couple of cement swans that my dad bought mom 50 years ago sitting by the edge of the lake where we live. There is nothing more special than those hand me downs. Have a great week and come by for a visit when you can. Debbie

I agree. I would much rather have something with history behind it. It's extra special that it's YOUR history.
Enjoy

That is a gorgeous pot. When I first started reading I was scared you were going to repaint it. It looks great as is - I love the chippiness.
