I don't love that some of my dearest friends live far away.
But I do love when we get the chance to be together and it's like no time has passed at all.
Whether they are a 5-hour car ride or a 4-hour plane ride away, I feel so blessed to have friends who know me so well-- who challenge me, who aren't afraid to ask the hard questions -- who also will stay up late, drinking wine and laughing about the weirdest things until 2 a.m.
If you have friends like that, treasure them, call them often, write them a note, send them a text remind them how much you appreciate them. It's easy to forget sometimes how incredible a good friend is.

ReplyDeleteMy closest friends live far away too. Actually all of my best friends do. One is 8 hours away, one is 3 hours away, one is 2 hours away, and one is in another country right now in the Middle East, but she'll be home soon and lives 10 minutes away. I have other friends but my closest ones are the ones that are furthest away who I don't get to see as often as I would like to! I am glad that your friends are such blessings to you as well!

You are beautiful! My best friend is in Germany. While I miss her dearly, I'm so thankful for the beautiful friendship we have. We talk all the time (thank goodness for Skype!) and we talk about what God is doing in our lives half way across the world. How great is our God!
