I have lots of little things in my craft room that need holders (scissors, brushes, beads, ribbon, etc.). I was trying to be a little creative and used these planters for flowers to use for some of those items! I wish that I would have tried this out sooner, as I just spent a small fortune on planters for some flowers my mom just shipped me (they are fake, the real stuff...I have trouble keeping those alive, plus in AZ, it is HOT)! If I would have know this was so easy, I would have bought 2 giant planters like this and customized them! I think I will for the backyard!
Pretty Planters How-To:

2. Let them dry.
3. Robin's Egg Blue, I LOVE this color!
4. Spray away and then let dry.
5. Once they are dry, sand until they look rough enough for how you like 'em! I wanted to make sure that both the white and orange were showing through, so I sanded them pretty good!
Now onto the second project involving spray paint! Remember a few posts ago when I gave you a little teaser, letting you know I was up to some sort of craft but didn't reveal what it was? Well if not you can go back and read it here. If you remember, keep on reading to learn how to create your own big letters with some spray paint, mod podge, scissors, and fabric that you love!
How-To Make Fabric Letters

2. Spray paint over the white with Robin's Egg Blue
***I matched my paint colors with the fabric, you can use whatever paint color tickles your fancy!
3. Sand the edges and rough it up to your liking! I wished that on this project the white would have shown through a little bit more, next time, I would add a heavier coat of white!

2. Mod Podge the top of your letter.
3. Put fabric on top of it, smooth out any bubbles with your finger.
4. Once it is almost dry, cut off excess fabric.
5. My pants, it was messy cutting off all of that fabric! Be prepared!
6. The letter with the fabric cut out, before you put on the top layer of Mod Podge.
7. Cover the entire top of the letter with Mod Podge
8. Make sure that when you are doing step #7 you wipe off excess with your finger tip. I didn't want any spilling over onto the side (even though it dries clear).

Happy Crafting!

PS - If you haven't voted for Miss Lola in the "pink" contest over at Daisy Pink Cupcake, pretty please go and vote for her! She is contestant #2 in the 2nd contest! Thank you!

I have been using any down time to create Camden's 1 & 2 year Shutterfly memory books, writing in Nixen's baby book & working on another little book for him to document the pregnancy. That is MY version of crafting. : )

Maybe when we get out new house you can help me, or better yet can I just pay you to be my personal decorator. You and Sarah are HIRED, for sure. HA!
BTW- I voted :) and will work on the schools computers on Monday.
Wow, Jenni! I love these ideas. I have done that with pots before but they did not turn out nearly as cute! In fact, compared to yours they looked AWFUL! Haha! And I have to tell you the fabric letter idea is so awesome. I love letters but think they are getting a little overdone so the idea to cover them in fabric is FABULOUS!!!!!!! I think I may have do some for Lillie's room. YOu are so creative!!!
Looks good! I have a "p" I bought for my son and founds some vans tissue paper from the last pair of shoes he got and am trying to think of a way to incorporate that to cover the letter. Adding some material as well will help do the trick. Thanks!
I love the letter craft! I could totally do that in the baby's room. I would just have to find some fabric I'm in love with... What a great idea!
Fabulous! I love those colours - thanks for sharing! x
I need to find some mod podge stuff in the UK
