I usually check the weather once in the afternoon and sometimes again when I get home - on the computer. I do also have alerts set for any weather alerts come to my phone.
2.
Since this is Volume 84 of the Wednesday Hodgepodge, and since I got
married in 1984, and since I'm attending a wedding this weekend, it only
seems right to post something related here.
"Happiness
in marriage is entirely a matter of chance. If the dispositions of the
parties are ever so well known to each other or ever so similar
beforehand, it does not advance their felicity in the least. They
always continue to grow sufficiently unlike afterwards to have their
share of vexation; and it is better to know as little as possible of the
defects of the person with whom you are to pass your life." Jane
Austen, Pride and Prejudice
Agree or Disagree? Why?
I have to respectfully disagree. Happiness is not just a matter of chance, there are lots of things that come into play. About knowing someone making no difference - again I disagree. You can never know a person completely until you live with them.
3. Do you like to dance? Have you ever taken dance lessons?
I
do like to dance although I'm not the best dancer in the world. The only lessons I have ever taken were "belly dancing" lessons I took way back in 1979!.
4. Fresh from the oven peach pie or homemade peach ice cream. Pick one.
Homemade peach ice cream.
5. Should people accept unfairness and learn to make the best of it?
I'm torn here. I believe we should make the best of the situations we find ourselves in, be it fair or unfair. I'm not one to wallow. On the other hand, if you see something that is unfair, I believe you should at least try to do something about it.
6. The top five all time summer blockbuster movies (released between May and August and grossing at least 100 million dollars) are Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Star Wars (the original), Ghostbusters, and E.T. Which one's your favorite?
I
liked hem all. If I had to choose one it would be Jaws. That music still makes me jump.
7. If given the chance, would you like to visit the moon?
8. Insert your own random thought here.
The music to Jaws still makes me jump too. I don't know why because I've seen the movie many times and know what's coming but I still jump.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your morning off!
I say no to question #5.
ReplyDeleteHave fun today.
Taking the morning off work (when I was working) was always a weird thing ... going back to work in the afternoon made it feel like a regular work day, yet I wasn't following my usual morning routine, so it almost felt like a full day off. Hope your cat is ok.
ReplyDeleteJaws is like Miles said in "The Holiday": "BA-BAM! Two notes and you've got a villain. I don't know what to say about it. Totally brill."
ReplyDeleteThat music from JAWS still gets to me too! You took belly dancing? That's awesome! I hear it's great exercise but I'm not sure I can move my body like that anymore without throwing something out. LOL
ReplyDeleteI chose Jaws, also-music is so thrilling! Enjoy your morning off :)
ReplyDeleteI always thought it would be interesting to take belly dancing lessons :) Sounds fun!
