Reflections on the A - Z Challenge

the finish line

2012 Challenge Survivor Badge

Firstly I would like to thank my friend Judy for the heads up about the A – Z challenge and secondly to the custodians of the alphabet – the organisers of the challenge. What a terrific idea and it certainly was a challenge, thank you and well done.
Writing from Australia was daunting and exhilarating for me as the time zone meant that we were the first blogs online each day, then it was suspenseful waiting for the rest of the world to catch up, especially if people were posting late in the evening.
I have enjoyed myself a lot, reading other blogs was interesting and funny and sad and educational. I will be going through the list over the next couple of months trying to read those blogs I have missed. I apologise to those whom I visited and didn't comment – it's not easy when you are working full time, trying to keep a food garden prolific AND spend time on the computer. The highlight would be that I have some followers now which is fantastic, I no longer feel like I'm talking to thin air, and I am following others and will continue to do so.
I am now enthused about keeping my blog going as my garden evolves and although I wont be blogging every day I will try to do some at least 2 or 3 times a week and I will be back for the challenge next year. I have also set myself a small challenge to learn all about my blog hosts features, I was and am not familiar with all the buttons and inserts and have had to do some googling in order to understand some of the blogging terminology.
I think the challenge is great for the opportunity it offers to everyone participating (or not) to meet other bloggers from all walks of life and with all walks of interests and on an international scale. I'm calling it Blogging without borders.
I notice in some other bloggers comments that they would like to see categories introduced in the A -Z next year, I also think that's a great idea; not every blog is going to spike your interest and a heads up as to the content would be time saving for those of us who are time poor.

  1. It was great to meet you with your warm hints at Australian sunshine. Thoughts from the land of my birth always cheer me. It must be so hard to find the energy to contact so many people when you work as well. Congratulations on your willingness to learn.

  5. Congratulation on finishing the challenge. During the challenge I didn't visit as many blogs as I would like to but, cross my heart, I'm visiting every single one with the reflection post (and I'm almost done)! I am so glad my journey brought me here.

    Evalina, This and that...
