A Wee Lookie back over this month's A to Z Blog Challenge
"Reflections of they way life used to be..." lyrics of a great song that I love by The Supremes. And also the theme tune to the brilliant 80s series called "China Beach".
Anyway, back to My Reflections about my first year taking part in this massive Blog Hop The A to Z Blog Challenge.
Well, to me it was more than just a Blog Hop. It was a challenge to see if I could stick to posting to topic - everyday. For me, its really hard to stick to the rules and it was actually a shit load easier than I thought it would be. Next time, however, I will choose a more substantial theme. Even I got bored with it in the first week. But thats just me - attention span of a fucking gnat.
I also wanted to give myself an opportunity to expand my blog reading list, meet some cool new bloggers and follow some blogs that I wouldn't normally follow or read. That I certainly did
At the beginning of the challenge, I was tempted to follow every blog that I visitied. I wanted to give everyone a chance, because the A to Z Challenge posts are normally not your regular style posts so I wanted to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and read their "regular stuff" once the challenge was finished.
Bad mistake.
After a few days, I still visited and commented on lots of blogs, but I only followed the ones that I knew that I would enjoy reading after the challenge. There were a LOT of writing blogs in the challenge and I can't complete with that. I'm certainly no writer. I'm just a blogger.
That all said, I am now reading an additional 29 blogs, I got loads of increased traffic, tons of brilliant comments and I have now acquired 38 new followers.
HELLO PLONKERS
Alrighty, I guess I'm not everyone's cuppa tea but I'm glad those who follow me appreciate that I'm just just being me. What you see is what you get.
A great Challenge and a massive, ginormous thank you to all the Hosts of this event. See you next year!

Hey Lass! Apologies - you fell off my blogroll! I bought myself a domain and when I rebuilt it, you were left off by mistake. Even wearing such lovely shoes! Yes, yes, I am a plonker. But all of us non-Scots are, right? (Tho my maternal Grandmother was a feisty McGregor from Wishaw) You are now re-instated! And congrats on completing the challenge! Indigo x
Wow, 38 followers is quite the number Lass, you should be proud of yourself and everything that you did during the challenge, you did a seriously great job. I love what you do here and this blog and I know everybody else does as well.
Oh my...you WERE ambitious weren't you? I followed the blogs that interacted with me to some extent. I wasn't participating so much to get a jump in followers as to see if I could do the challenge. I enjoyed the structure. Thanks for the Supremes!
C'est la vie. Love the Supremes clip. They were brilliant.
Following everyone just leads to a ton of un-following later. There were a lot of non-writer blogs, of which I was thankful. I enjoy those!
Glad you had a good time.
I know what you mean, about following lots of folks at first and then getting choosier as time went by...I got about 38 new followers, too! I'm planning on making my way down (and then back up) the original linky-list - you never know what other cool folks you'll come across!
Some Dark Romantic
I always feel intimidated by the writers too
This was my first time too, and I was very unprepared. Probably because I decided last minute to do it.
Next year I will be more ready!
Lots of us writers blog, but maybe 50% of my posts are actually about writing. Okay, maybe 60%.
Yep I agree. I decided early on to only follow those blogs I actually found interesting (although I did try and comment on every one I visited). I found some corkers too :)
You are so my cup of tea!! And I love your accent!! I, too, tried to follow way too many blogs. Burned me out big time. Nice to be settling back in to normal again.
Well count me as one more follower! I didn't get to visit as many blogs as I planned to during the challenge itself, so I'm trying to squeeze in a few more now with the reflections linky. I subscribed via email too so I won't lose any of your future posts!
Just from this post alone I think I definitely like your writing style and while I can't always promise I'll comment I will try to read as many as I can. (I also have the attention span of a gnat and tend to get easily distracted while checking my email alone.)
Thanks for joining the challenge!
I'm glad that you've done well out of the challenge. This place was one of my favourite finds during the challenge.
It was something to do in April, eh? Thanks for following my Sunday blog A Few Words. Don't know how often I'll see you there but you're always welcome to stop by.
Thanks for adding your thoughts.

An A to Z Co-host blog
Just finding you now through the reflections post links. Can I just say that I absolutely LOVE the shoes in your banner! :)
Congrats on finishing the challenge!
Oh hello! Nice to see someone from my second home country - South Africa! It was impossible to visit all the blogs during April - but I'm catching up now.
English Speaking Zone
I absolutely loved your 100 things!! You sound so lovely actually! There are so many common points here
Beware:I think you inspired me to do something similar, it's all your fault now! :D Thank you
You've done an awesome job through the challenge and I really enjoyed your theme.
Yours was one of 30 odd blogs that I was checking in on daily and on my new reading list :) In fact you were mentioned in my Q post :P
You've got a Diva Plonker Follower in me darling x
