Wednesday Hodgepodge

Gathering up steam for the hump day hodgepodge . . .

1. My daughter2 is graduating from university this month and plans to teach elementary school. What are three qualities you most want to see evidenced in a teacher?
Enthusiasm.  The patience of a saint.  The desire to be there!  Preparation and cleverness are good traits to have as a teacher also.  I think you can totally tell when a teacher wants to be doing what she/he is doing and it's not 'just a job.'  That pretty much means all the fun teachers are young and not disenchanted yet, right?  Ha.
2. You can tell a lot about a person by_____________________.
How they treat others.

3. What song makes you think spring?
How about The Beatles ~ Here Comes the Sun!  Although Spring here doesn't necessarily mean sun.

4. May 1st is Mother Goose Day...share your favorite nursery rhyme.
I'm going to go with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.   I googled nursery rhymes and I tell you what, I knew maybe 5 off the long list.  I guess we weren't big into nursery rhymes growing up or when my kids were little.

5. What makes someone unforgettable?
Hmm.  A great personality.  Being genuinely friendly and accepting of others.

6. Should music and/or art be part of a well rounded education?
Yes!  My kids were lucky to have had music and art offered and sometimes shoved down their throats and I can see where they benefited so much from both.

7. What social situations make you flustered or nervous?
Hmm.  I have to say I'm pretty okay in most social situations.  Now that's not to say I didn't get anxious when I had to go to client dinners with the Hubs back in the early years.  Eh.  Not so much anymore.  I think that's just natural with age maturity.

8. Insert your own random thought here.
We are winging our way East again today.  Destination, Washington DC and a hotel full of Lawyers.  Your kind of weekend?  Yeah, didn't think so.  Well, luckily they are all bringing their better halves.  Should be a fun time but I should be more rested going in, people always want to party with the Portland wives.

Can't say I blame 'em.

I'm just sayin'

She will be winging her way south to join us for graduation festivities-yay!

Maybe the Portland wives need their own show?
