I finally got a cover made for my Kindle Fire. I love how it turned out. I bought the material at Quilter's Corner in the remnant bin. When it came time to choose fabric for my cover, I knew this "was it".
This is the front with it's lovely elastic strap. I can't believe how well centered the word "coffee" turned out!
A full on photo of the entire cover.

It holds my kindle just right for reading and protects it for carrying in my purse. I based the cover on Terry Atkinson's pattern (borrowed from my cousin, Peggy). I decided I didn't need a pocket for anything. It was the first time I've worked with Peltex--it sews up nicely. The highest praise was when DH told me I could probably make them and sell them for $20. He usually doesn't say much about my projects.
If you would like a chance or two to win the new Jennifer Chiaverini's book, Sonoma Rose, follow this link to Just Ramblin' or this one to Lilac Lane. Although I have a Kindle Fire, I'm partial to those "hard covers".
It's a beautiful sunny day here today. It's 40 degrees out, but feels warmer. We've had such a nice winter, but people are concerned about the lack of winter moisture. I'm just enjoying it!
It's darling. Love the fabric and the way it turned out Janet.
ReplyDeleteIt really turned out well! ice job! Do't you just love your Fire?
ReplyDeleteGreat looking cover - that fabric is so happy and I love the polka dot binding - happy reading - I love my Kindle Fire too!
ReplyDeleteYour Kindle Cover is fabulous. I love the fabric you used.
ReplyDeleteI love this. And I have been looking at the Kindles. So want one.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out great! Very cute fabric! I'm a reluctant Kindle fan. I love mine, but will never be able to completely give up a real book. Libraries and bookstores still make me a happy girl.

ReplyDeletehe kindle cover is great. I agree with DH...you could probably sell them with little problem.I have thought about a Kindle. I just can't imagine wrapping up in a quilt and a cup of hot chocolate on a rain or snowy day and holding onto a Kindle rather than a book. I do have an ipad in my classroom that the students love using.
ReplyDeleteThank you for giving out the information to the newest Jennifer Chiaverini's book. I went to both sites to enter.
We have also had no snow this winter. Very unusual for us. Everyone is very concerned for spring and the moisture levels.
What a great Kindle cover! I love my Kindle, but have yet to make a pretty cover for it. Looks like I just got my inspiration! Whoop whoop!!
ReplyDeleteLove how your cover turned out. I have a Kindle Fire now too. Have had it about a month now. But I bought a cover for it and I love it. However, I am thinking of making a cover for my Gooseberry Patch calendar.

Your cover looks great. I thought you had planned it for the coffee to be right in the middle of the front.
ReplyDeleteThat is really cool! Great fabric choice!
