1. Lake Superior University has once again banished a list of words/phrases they think should be banished from the Queen's English in 2012-
amazing,
baby bump, shared sacrifice, occupy, blowback, man cave, the new
normal, pet parent, win the future, ginormous, trickeration and thank
you in advance.
Which of these words/phrases would you most like to see banished from everyday speech and why. Go here to read more about how the words were chosen.
I'm going to say "win the future" because I don't think that's possible - the future has to be earned.

I too, am not so easily embarrassed as I was in my younger years.
3. what is your go-to snack?
Sour cream and cheddar potato chips - they are the best!
4. Have you ever been to Washington DC? if not do you have any desire to go? What site/attraction would you most like to see in that city? If you have been what's your favorite site?
I've never been to DC. I wouldn't mind going but it's not on the top of my priority list. I would like to see the Vietnam Memorial.

6. What's a small act of kindness someone did for you that you've never forgotten?
I've had lots of kindness in my life thankfully. Years ago, right after divorcing I was so broke I didn't even have money for Christmas for the kids. My brother loaned me the money to put presents under the tree for them.
7. Have you ever been a blood donor?
I've been a blood donor for years. Every 56 days.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Our wonderful weather is about to change back to normal January temps. Forecast is: cold, snow, blowing snow advisory :(. It sure was nice while it lasted.
That was a very nice thing your brother did so your children could have christmas.
ReplyDeleteThere is a picture of the Vietnam wall on my blog. My husband went to DC recently for a conference and took some pictures.
At least we're going to get some snow with the cold temperatures. I am not a fan of cold, but I figure that if it's going to be cold, we should get some snow to make it worthwhile! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI too had a loving sibling who helped me out after I was divorced. At a time when you are so vulnerable any kindness is so welcome. Hope you get enough snow for beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteSo you have been a blood doner for a long time. My daughter has tried a few times each time she is so sick that she can't leave the place for 3 hours. The last time she passed out twice.
ReplyDeleteI have made her stop, because for a week she can't function.
They keep calling, but I have forbid her to do it anymore. Has this ever happened to you?
Every 56 days! That is great, I'm know that it is used to help others. Enjoy the snow - lets see how good the weather men are!
ReplyDeleteGreat post... I always love reading more about my blog friends... I've been to D.C. but would love to go back and visit more of the Smithsonian...
ReplyDeleteMy go-to snack is probably peanut butter --and whatever I can find to eat it with..... ha
Hugs,
Betsy
