Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's Wednesday and that means two things... it means that I'm gearing up for another busy two days of Abide bible studies with church friends (which also means my brain is mush from all the prep) and it means it's time for this week's Wednesday Hodgepodge.  If you wanna join in the fun, head over to Joyce's "Side of the Pond" and play along!

1. Have you ever been 'asked' to report for jury duty? Were you chosen to serve? If not, were you happy or disappointed?  A couple of years ago I received the dreaded letter asking me to report for jury duty.  It had never happened before (and hasn't since... knock on wood) but I was able to get out of it because Hubby & I, the week before, had just booked me on a flight to join Hubby on a business trip.  Phew!

2. On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being very), how mechanically inclined are you? Give an example to back up your answer.  I would say that I'm a 7 or 8 - pretty mechanically inclined... I know how to set up the electronic equipment and I also assembled the vanity cupboard in our downstairs powder room!  Must be in my genetic makeup!

The cabinet I assembled

3. Beets-cabbage-cauliflower-butternut squash....of the four, which is your favorite fall vegetable?  None are "favorites" but if I have to chose one it would be butternut squash, but only as a soup.  It's a texture thing.  I can somehow handle it as soup but not as mushy vegetable piece.

4. What do you recommend to overcome self-pity?  A good swift kick in the pants?  No, seriously... I recommend taking time to think on things to be grateful for.  Gratitude goes a LONG WAY to getting rid of self-pity!

5. Do you enjoy classical music?  I do!  I don't listen to it often, but I do enjoy the soothing strains of the classics.  Seventeen years ago this weekend, we walked down the aisle to a mixed CD of favorite classical pieces when Hubby and I got married.

6. October is National Book Month...what's on your reading list this month?  I just finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett and I just started Melissa Sue Anderson's (Mary Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie) biography.  Where we go from there... I'm not sure!

7. What is your idea of 'cute'?  How about I show you...

My great-niblings - our miracle triplets!

My cute Hubby and my sister's adorable Pup, Pepper

8. Insert your own random thought here.  Yesterday I was driving down the road to meet my niece (the triplets' mom) for lunch and while stopped at a light I saw a guy with his electric razor shaving... while driving!  It's against the law here in Ontario to drive and talk or text on a cell phone, but I have to wonder... is it illegal to be shaving while driving??  Oh... and a friend saw someone brushing their teeth while driving yesterday too.  When did the car become the bathroom?  Do you do your hygiene rituals behind the wheel?  Inquiring minds want to know!

I do nothing but drive when I'm driving. It is one place I am not good at multitasking. The triplets are so cute...i don't think I've seen a picture since they were tiny. Adorable!

I love your cabinet and have been looking for something similar for a powder room...do you by chance know where its from? Is it a Canadian product? Just curious.
