1. It is officially fall here in North America...I realize not everyone who participates in the Hodgepodge lives in North America but if you do, what's your favorite memory of Summer 2011? If you're not in North America, what's your favorite memory of the season just ending on your side of the world?
I think my favorite memory of the Summer would be our 25th Anniversary party. Son #1's graduation would be a close second but definitely the anniversary celebration with our friends and family topped the list.
2. Your favorite nut? You know I mean the edible kind, right?
I'm going to go with the Filbert or Hazelnut as they're called in other parts of the states. Not sure why they have two names but anyway, I love 'em. Family friends of ours had a filbert farm and I can recall going to their home as a young girl and having roasted filberts right off the trees. Hmm. I forgot about that. I am also a fan of almonds but I do not care for any kind of nut in breads or cakes.
3. What activity puts your sense of balance to the test?
I'm not exactly sure what Joyce means here by 'activity 'but I'm going with riding trains. I did not have a good experience coming off the train from Paris to Rome. ugh. I literally had to take the rest of the afternoon to regain my equilibrium. Not good.
4. How would you describe your sense of humor?
Hmm... good? I'm not really sure. I'll have to ask the Hubby. . . He says it's good and active. Hmm.
5. September 28th is National Ask a Stupid Question Day...what's your stupid question?
I think the big question here is ~ who makes these things up?? I'm sure my kids would have an opinion here but for the life of me I can't imagine ever asking a stupid question . Ha.
Have I mentioned before that stupid is a 'four letter word' here at the Castle?
Anyway, my DUMB question for today would be . . . "Did you sleep in the same bed?" {ahem}

6. Roller skates~hula hoop~jump rope...which activity would you most enjoy? Yes, you have to choose.
I'm going with jump rope even though ENJOY is not the word I would use in any of these instances. Just sayin'
7. What's your most sentimental possession?
Well now that's a hard decision. If we're talking about something of mine and solely mine, I would have to say my charm bracelet. I posted about it here. If we're talking about something that has been previously owned by someone else and given to me then I would go with Mom/Nana's wedding band from her wedding ring set.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Due to some new developments we get to make a quick (although there is nothing quick about getting from here to NY) visit to New York City in about 3 weeks. Yay, right? Well . . . since we were already scheduled to be in Palo Alto the following weekend we now must fly directly from NY to San Jose. Which means the packing is going to be a challenging.
Good thing our checked bags are free.
I'm just sayin'

Where in the city will you be? You say quick so perhaps no meet up but if there is time, let me know.
#5-don't ask a question you don't want the answer to...just sayin' : )
Enjoy your trip!
I'm not sure I have ever had a filbert nut by itself. I need to put that on my "to do" list I guess :)
That is so special that you have her wedding band.
