Lately I've had this insatiable desire to redecorate my home. It all started with rearranging the living/dining room. The hard part is finished, but pictures will have to wait until I get the room all put back together.
For now, I want to show you my new clock!
You see, a year ago I bought this clock because well, it was a) a clock, b) a cheap clock, and c) wasn't absolutely hideous and cheap looking. The problem is, I never liked the clock. Not even a little bit. It was also difficult to see the time, because the hands were camouflaged by the the design.
It also clashed with the new decor.
So, I decided to see if maybe I could find something that worked. Unfortunately, most of it was either the wrong color(s) or WAY too expensive to justify buying. Thankfully, Hans was out running errands for me and picked up a cheap 60kr. ($12) clock for me.
Of course, it was WAY too similar to the old one, but I wasn't worried. I decided to dismantle it and turn it into something I liked. (For the record, I'd rather take apart and mess up and really cheap clock than risk it with one which is more expensive. That's why we got the new, cheap clock.)
So, I took it apart, flipped the face of the clock over and began painting away.
I recommend using spray paint instead of acrylic paint, but the only color I had was black, so acrylic it was.
While the face of the clock dried, I painted the hands.
Finished off with a clear coat, let dry, and reassembled the clock.
Then I hung it on the wall.
What do you think?
