One of my favorite bloggers, Dana over at MADE is doing an impromptu "Celebrate the Summer Boy" series this week and of course I am going to participate!!! Plus it's a great excuse to play around with my new camera :)
In fact, this weekend I compiled a list of all the things I wanted to try and make before leaving for Nashville at the end of the month. The list was LONG!!!! This series is a great excuse to get cracking :)
So this weekend, I got a head start, making a few outfits for both kids.
I had picked up a yard of fun whale fabric by Ann Kelle at a local fabric shop last week. I intended on making Reid a summer bucket hat but haven't gotten around to tackling that project. So instead, I made him another pair of shorts. He really can't have enough :)
And since it has been so hot here, and Reid goes through clothes left and right, using some fabric scraps, I appliqued him a new whale onesie. Perfect for those hot summer afternoons or after a day at the pool!
Of course, I couldn't leave Emma out and her list is a lot longer than Reid's!!! After going through her closet about a month ago, I pulled out some shirts that were in great condition, just too short on my growing little princess. One white tank + fun, summery fabric = a new tank dress for Emma!
I appliqued a seahorse on the front to spruce it up a bit and then noticed a small stain on the back of the shirt so I covered it up with an appliqued heart...
You can never go wrong with dresses for Emma!
Happy summer sewing!!! PS: LOVING my new camera :)
