Wednesday Hodgepodge

Time for Joyce's . . .

1. Sunday was the first day of spring. So they say. Ahem. What is your favorite outdoor springtime activity?

Hmm.  Spring here is not usually what anyone would consider warm so there's not much I would do outside.  Ha. I do enjoy doing the closet switch out and bring all the lighter and brighter things up with the hope that I might start wearing them soon.  I guess putting flowers on the porch and deck would be a favorite too.  So I guess what I'm saying is that Spring here is basically getting ready and hoping for Summer to come quickly.

2. Who would you want to come into your kitchen to cook dinner for you?

Well I would love some food by Ina Garten (it's the real thing) but would love to chat it up with Paula Deen.  She cracks me up.

3. When did you last fly a kite?

I do not have a clue.  I want to say when the kids were little but if it was then I probably just watched while the Hubby ran the show.  So it could have been on a beach trip when the Hubby was in college.  Or not.  Or on our beach day trip after the senior prom? Hmm.

4. What topic puts you to sleep faster than anything?

Hmm.  Math.  Honestly it puts me into a dazed state of un-comprehensive stupor.  Ha.

5. Which flowers do you associate with specific people, places, or events?

Well the Daisy makes me think of Debbie, my older sis.  I love gladioli and they remind me of our wedding.  Tulips say SPRING, SPRING SPRING!  Which is of course late.  Again.  {sigh}

6. What significant historical events took place during your elementary school days?

I had to ask the Hubby on this one.  Ha.  The Moon Landing, The Vietnam War and the Olympic Games where the Israelis were killed were the top three that came to his mind.  I guess it was the best of times and the worst of times.

7. Do you swear? Do you pseudo-swear? (You know crap, shoot, friggin'?)

I don't swear.  Much.  I've been known to let out a Damn it and the occasional S word but everything else is a pseudo-swear.  Does anyone remember the show Mork and Mindy?  He used to say Shuzbut!
I adopted that years ago.  And I say Crackers.  I don't know why, it just comes out.  Y'all KNOW how I feel about the F word and the word s*#k too!  Bleh.

  8. Insert your own random thought here.

Speaking of getting the spring wardrobe out . . . I must go do that because this girl is heading to Southern CA. and it's sunshine next week!

I hear tell they're getting some of our Oregon rain sunshine this week.  All I can say is it better be finished by the time I get there.

I'm just sayin'

We are mid snow storm here. I wish I were heading to Southern Calif next week! I was just feeling a little hopeful this weekend when I noticed buds on the dogwood. Sigh. I should know better than to get excited about March weather!

Ina Garten sounds like the popular choice for the day, but I do love me some Paula Deen...Y'ALL! :)

I am right there with you on math scramblin' your brain and putting you to sleep. yech.

Spring has arrived here pretty much full force and I, like you, am excited about putting away the woolies and bringing out the light and lovely stuff! (Not if I had a light and lovely body to go with it, I'd be happy!)
