Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by!!
Blogging has always been a stress reliever for me along with an avenue to share my passions which are my home and my garden.....
I
feel it is a personal Journal that, hopefully, someday, my Twin
Granddaughters will be able to look back on to learn about who I
was....
I will be posting 3 times a week on MONDAYS, THURSDAYS and SATURDAYS....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

In my last post, I shared how I decorated my front porch for Spring/Easter along with my annual Home Tour for Easter!

HERE if you missed that post!!
Happy Easter!!!
I hope you all got to spend the day with those that you love!!
Better pull up a seat and grab your favorite beverage as this one is going to be a long one....
Today, I am going to take you through my Easter Sunday, which was a truly wonderful day!!!!
The morning was cool with temps. in the high 40's and a bit windy but with lots of sunshine....
I attended 9 am Mass at my church, Saint Maria Goretti, like I usually do every Sunday.....
The church was decorated beautifully....
These pictures were taken by my friend Elaine who decorates our church and 2 others in the area....
Our church was built only a little over 50 years ago so is one of the newer churches in our area....
It was beautiful when the Sun started to shine down on this cross through the sky lights above during Mass....

I usually take some pictures of the church but I had to hurry home after talking with some friends after Mass because I needed to get this baby in the oven.....
A 7 pound turkey breast
I had it all ready in the roaster, which I put in the fridge until I got home from church, and quickly made the Recipe Secrets Savory Herb and Garlic mix, combined with 3 sticks of melted butter, that I use to baste the turkey...
On Saturday, I got a heads up on cooking my Easter Dinner for my family....
Early in the week, I bought......
A half a boneless ham that weighed 4 pounds....
Which I decided to try something new when it came to a glaze for it....
My mother always used plain grape jelly on her hams but I found a recipe for the grape jelly, soy sauce, mustard and a bit of brown sugar, making a thicker glaze.....
I did decide to freeze about a third of it to use in a casserole or two at a later date....
I also bought 2 links of smoked Polish Kielbasi which is a holiday staple here in NEPA because of the large amount of Eastern European immigrants that settled here in the early 1900's........
As a child, I used to help my Dad make his own fresh Kielbasi...
My sons and DIL all like, what my son Joey calls, this "spicy Polish meat"
My IBS prohibits me from enjoying this.....
I also made my Dad's recipe for Sausage Filling....
Along with mashed potatoes, turkey gravy and corn......
We are not big dessert eaters especially after a huge Holiday meal as my sons prefer the meal over dessert....
I did buy traditional Polish Nut Roll from a friend, Betty, of mine from church....
Her loaves are 14 inches long
And 4 inches wide
Filled with a sweet nut mixture in a pastry like dough...
All this tastiness for only $14 a loaf....
I bought 3!
Betty is in her late 80's and makes other baked goods in addition to these that she sells every Holiday!!!
I decided to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies because everyone usually has room for a cookie or two after eating a large meal....
I did send some over to my next door neighbor, Mehrukh, whose 2 children enjoy them....
And I was thrilled to find out that my grand daughters enjoyed them at Christmas!!
So you can count on me making these more often for Lily and Gigi!!
On Saturday evening, I set the Dining Room table for Easter
A simple tablescape as my son Joey always says " You have to have room for the food!"
I started with a pastel plaid tablecloth.....
I burned my late husband Joe's Memorial Candle, that I received in a special Mass for All Soul's Day last year, during Easter Dinner....
Like I did on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's.....
This was something that the Hospice Unit, where Joe passed away, recommended to do in regards to dealing with the grief after losing a loved one...
I intend to burn it at Holiday meals until there is no more candle left to burn....
My late friend Anne Marie gifted me these Easter dinner plates last year....
The bunny plates I bought several years ago in Tuesday Mornings along with the new silverware that I recently bought....
The crystal glassware was a gift from my next door neighbor's one Christmas, even though they are Muslim....
Some Easter candy in a vintage pink depression glass dish......
I also had the cookies and nut roll in a pink depression glass serving dish.....
And now, my family's Easter celebration!!
My Twin Grand Daughters with the Easter Bunny!!!
Lily was not as happy with him as Gigi was....
We enjoyed having dinner together....
Jim and Lily....

Along with some small pieces of Mimi's cookies, Lily also liked the mashed potatoes and gravy!!
And smiling at Uncle Joey and Mimi!!
More cookies please!!
Danielle and Gigi
Gigi was eating some yogurt drops...
Along with mashed potatoes and Mimi's cookies...
Opening Easter presents from Mimi!!
These were for the big kids, Joey, Jim and Danielle!!
Joe's favorite candy was Reese's cups....
Bubbles....
Bunnies
Books
A few outfits for each of them
Like maybe 4 a piece!!
Even Winter coats for next year...
I bought larger sizes for the Fall/Winter on clearance in Boscov's.....
Azumi likes being in the middle of things
Jim wearing the ring with Joe's ashes inside of it that says DAD.....
Getting used to their new shoes and steadier on their feet....
Faye wants to play
So does Azumi
They liked walking down the hall, through the Kitchen and Dining Room back into the Living Room, squealing with joy and laughing, with Mom and Dad running right behind them to catch them and prevent them from touching something that they shouldn't...
With Bunnies from Mimi
Uncle Joey was in charge of the Dog Treats...
Faye
Getting tired and laying on Danielle's feet....
Getting sweaters on to go home...
And watch Wrestlemania with Mom and Dad!!
Uncle Joey was doing the same thing...
Continuing the tradition that Joe started many years ago when the boys were young...
We also went to every Wrestling event at our Arena as a family with the boys and even a few with Danielle who has also become a huge Wrestling fan...
....
Before Joe passed away, I told him that I would be bringing him home... to be with us... where he belonged...
He told me " I would like that very much!"
He knew that his ashes would be placed in a beautiful mantel clock....
Displayed in his great Grandmother's hutch....
Overlooking all of our family celebrations....

Being a part of them in spirit...
Every morning and every night before I go to bed, I touch this clock....
I also remembered my friend Anne Marie this Easter too....
She is also with her beloved Husband, Tony, in the home that she loved to decorate for every Holiday....
Tony told me that he took that page from my play book...
Her urn is very similar to Joe's clock but that beautiful picture of her is on the front instead of the clock face...
Now , I feel that the first year after Joe's passing is over...
Last Easter was a Holiday filled with anxiety and uncertainty as we had not yet found out Joe's diagnosis even though I knew in my heart what it was...
Being a nurse can be a curse...
It truly was a beautiful, fun and family filled Easter that warmed all of our hearts, replacing that memory of last year with a happier one....
I feel so blessed and peaceful now....
I will leave you with a few pictures of the front of my townhouse lit up in the early evening....
HAPPY EASTER!!!!
Joe , as the Easter Bunny for the silk mill where he worked about 30 years ago....

Don't grandbabies just make the holidays even better? Their joy is contagious. Glad you were able to have family for Easter. Need to remember your ham glaze recipe. I have heard of using grape jelly as a kind of BBQ sauce but haven't heard of combining it with soy to make a glaze. Just bet that was delicious.
