Wishing you and yours a very Happy Easter!!

I will be attending 9 am Mass and then hosting a big Easter Dinner for my family in the afternoon....

I am really looking forward to spending time with my family...

Wednesday, April 16th, was the One Year Anniversary of my husband Joe's Passing.....

A morning Mass at my church was celebrated in memory of him and I was happy to see a lot of my friends there even though I know they routinely attend morning daily Mass....

I spent the morning doing what Joe normally did...

Shopping and making his rounds to various places, talking to people he normally visited with.....

I have to admit that I felt peaceful that day and almost like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders, having made it through the 1st year, which is always the hardest...

My sons had a harder time of it though....

I am so thankful for everyone who took the time to reach out to me on that day, whether it is a phone call, an email, a text or a private FB message!!!!

You all helped me get through that day!!

This post is a long one, since I skipped Thursday's post, so I suggest you find a comfy chair and grab a cuppa whatever you like and relax a bit.....

I finally got around to packing away all the Winter/Christmas decorations that graced the front of my townhouse...

I then cleaned up the porch a bit and decorated it for Easter....

For the last several years, I really did not decorate out front too much for Easter because of our constantly changing Spring weather here in NEPA....

This is what it looked like last year....

Sort of sparse....

And this is what it looks like this year...

I made a few changes....

This is what the front of the house looks like from my parking lot.....

In my last post, I bought a bunch of faux UV Resistant, water proof flowers that I will be mainly using out in my back patio and yard....

But for Easter, I decided to use some of those flowers on the front porch to spruce up my bare pots....

I tied a white bow I had in my stash around the lighthouse I made...

Some of the faux flowers that I recently bought....

I really am happy with how they look....

Also new this year is the eucalyptus garland around the front door....

I intertwined lights through it that come on by timer at dusk.....

I made 2 bows out of pink ribbon I had in my stash on each corner above the door....

I also decided to change this wreath up a bit that I made a few years ago by adding a bow that I made out of more ribbon that I had in my stash....

There are roses embossed on the ribbon.....

The set of lights was longer than the garland but when I bring the 2 chairs and table that I normally have out on the front porch in the Summer from the back patio, one of the chairs will hide those lights.....

I also used some of the faux flowers in this pot....

I hung the Easter signs that Joe bought on Clearance in Big Lot's for 90% off a few years back....

I made a bow for the porch light out of Dollar Tree ribbon....

I decided to freshen up this sign a bit....

And this one too....

I used some of the paint in my stash to brighten them up a bit....

My Easter flag....

I left this chair that I had out here in the Winter for now as it is resin and would hold up better to being exposed to the elements....

In the corner of the porch....

Joe bought this faux boxwood ball several years ago in Wegman's....

I placed it in this black urn and tucked a bunny stake into it....

I added a bow at the top of the tree and a bunny sign....

I had bought these faux boxwood bushes in Ollie's a few months ago...

I bought 2 packages of plastic Easter eggs at Dollar Tree the other day and strung them together using twine in my stash....

Making a garland.....

That I hung on the porch railing....

I also picked up 2 carrot stakes at Dollar Tree....

I bought this Easter slate at a church flea market 2 years ago....

I added some faux flowers and flower solar lights, along with the carrot stakes to these planters in front of the railing.....

The other day, I cleaned up all the front flowers beds......

The flower bed under the Living Room window...

I raked up the mulch....

And fixed the trough I made last year for the water coming out of the rain gutter...

One of the large square pots cracked over the Winter so I emptied all the dirt out of it and filled the other pots in the front with that dirt....

I am going to do something different here on this retaining wall...

Stay tuned on this one....

The flower beds on top of the slope....

I also cleaned up all the dried leaves and debris from the Winter....

Raked the mulch, freshening it up......

I will be calling a friend of mine, who is a landscaper, next week to put mulch down on the slope and the front flower beds for me and also for 2 of my neighbor's....

A fresh coat of mulch will really make the flower beds look good....

I will plant annuals in the pots in these front flower beds but I intend on using some of the faux flowers on the front porch....

I also freshened up my next door neighbor's flower beds....

These are my neighbor's forsythia's which are the first sign of Spring here........

I will leave the front of the house like this until the beginning of May....

Now let's continue the Tour inside.....

  8. Thankful that you had a sense of peace going through the first anniversary of your husband's passing doing the things he would have done. I would like to think he was right there with you. I am sorry the day was more difficult for your sons. Hope some of their happier memories will bring them comfort.

And of course, I love love love all the bunnies and the carrots and whimsy and fun of your Easter decorations.
