Amid the rush on Swanston Street,
Where countless footsteps rise and meet,
A thousand faces glance and stray,
All chasing time, then swept away.
But through the tide of shifting heads,
Two walkers move like silver threads.
Their gaze is fixed, their posture proud,
Alone in focus, through the crowd.
No screens, no signs to draw their eyes,
They walk beneath the Melbourne skies,
As if they see a distant shore,
A quiet truth, a something more.
While city hums in scattered thought,
Their silent stride says all it ought—
In chaos, calm; in drift, direction,
Two souls in step with introspection.

ReplyDeleteHow people can walk and scroll through their phones at the same time is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteAn acquired skillset
DeleteEsos seguramente serán los que más van disfrutando de la vida siendo conscientes de los colores, los sonidos, los olores y la belleza de la ciudad.
ReplyDeleteMeditation helps with that
DeleteIt's so sad to think that children always see people watching their mobile phones.
ReplyDeleteIt is an everyday scene
DeleteUn lugar en el que los transeúntes olvidan lo que les rodea y solo miran las pantallas de sus móviles.
ReplyDeleteUna pena esa pérdida de la realidad.
Un abrazo
What a varied group of people on this street, and I see several people focused on the cell phones. Is this an example of a lonely crowd?
ReplyDeleteWell written 👏
ReplyDeleteI got a headache if I stare at that tiny screen for just 10 seconds...I really don't like mobile phone and avoid them if I can.
ReplyDeleteMuy buena imagen

ReplyDeletePoetry indeed. And the monochrome picture give the mood. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHappy Eastern.
Un grupo numeroso que marcha apresuradamente, con las prisas propias de una gran ciudad.
ReplyDeleteFeliz Pascua.
Just 2 people in that crowd who are not looking at their phones!

Has that person got a mask on? It's nice to see people being considerate of others when they are sick.
