I like sewing and liked this video of how to not skew thick seams... a short video

conversation starter this week, last of Easter prompts

did you get easter baskets as a child? Please describe them, what was in them, did you get them in the morning? After church? Did you make them for your kids  your mate or decorations ?

I got pretty baskets with candies, or cheap toys, on fake grass, all arranged prettily. The mother put crinkly celophane around the basket, gathered it at the top with a big ribbon bow.
PEZ dispensers were usually included
It sat on the dining room table til after church.
I LOVE gifts like stockings full of little stuff, and Easter baskets, and yep, I still miss them.
Often the focal point was a chocolate bunny, one year a sugar egg with a scene in it. I was never a fan of jelly beans but they were pretty in the basket, my favorite was malted milk "eggs" and I couldn't get enough of those!
and PEEPS were always there. I opened the box, and let them get stale because that made them chewy!

I don't remember the year baskets stopped, but must have been about age 12 or so.

I like Sewing

This year      https://magpiesmumblings.blogspot.com/had a tutorial for an EPP fabric bowl,
I made it and will show the whole cute bowl,  with all the scenes, on Saturday
I like painting and am doing it again.... I haven't done portraits for a long time, and I tried painting Audrey Hepburn, this week. I love this quote by her
I don't know where I went wrong with this, but will open discussion with you on Saturday's post. I wanted to really capture her but... well.. I still like the painting

From the archives on my blog, Easter 2019 with Milo
He was cautious of great big bunnies, yet somehow intrigued!
Love you my beautiful boy
"yes, I want that bunny toy mama!"

Audrey Hepburn had the most beautiful big eyes, and you captured those!

Trees in bloom! Oh how I wish!

I saw a tree in bloom just a couple of blocks away this week. We do have leaf buds opening on our trees now, and the lawns have gotten green.

Yes, I did get Easter baskets as a kid and did them for my own kids too. One of my former coworkers would use corn starch to make "bunny tracks" - footprints - for her kids to follow looking for their baskets hidden somewhere in the house. She moved far away, so I wonder if she has been doing the same for her grandkids.

Your portrait is great. That’s a good quote to remember. Our town flowering trees haven’t gotten to full bloom. And now it’s snowing. Hopefully not enough wet heavy stuff to break branches. I wonder when Peeps first came on the market. I don’t remember them in my Easter baskets.

I love the blooming trees this time of year! It's a surprise again to me every year how beautiful they are. That video had a great tip - my machine always has trouble with thick seams. Your fabric bowl looks adorable - what a fun project! A new and modern Easter basket!

Spring is so beautiful but it is short and fickle in Colorado as we also get our periodic snowfalls. It was carbapple blossom week in Littleton!

Thank you for the shoutout, but the basket is actually not my design - it's by Molly and Mama. Glad you made one and I'm looking forward to seeing it.
As a kid, Easter for me meant a chocolate bunny - sometimes hollow and sometimes solid. We always had devilled eggs for supper too.

Pretty trees. Our dogwood has a long time to go before it blooms. Happy Easter!

We did get Easter baskets with fake grass and jelly beans and marshmallow chicks and a chocolate bunny and the malted milk eggs. Our baskets weren't wrapped in cellophane and I agree - the marshmallow chicks taste better dried out☺ Happy Easter, LeeAnna!

It's so lovely to see the trees in blossom. Sometime they are fragrant too. I love orange blossom.
Easter baskets... yes I think I got one as a child and I think it had small chocolate eggs in it. I can't really remember.
I enjoyed the video. Good advice. Very handy.
Your Audrey Hepburn is very beautiful (as was the real one). She grew up in the Netherlands (my country) and during the war worked for the Resistance. Brave lady.
Lovely to see Milo saying hello to a grown up bunnie.
Happy Easter weekend,
Lisca

It's a beautiful time of the year with all the fruit trees in bloom though sadly I know many of the fruit on our trees will be eaten by birds because I always put the netting on too late. The Secrets to Sewing video is brilliant. In all the years that I was teaching Textiles I have never seen that trick, will give it a go soon. Nice to see the photos of Milo too. Wishing you a happy Easter. Hugs Angela xXx

We always got easter baskets - jelly beans, small chocolates, pez candy and one large coconut egg from a local candy store. It was always fun!

Spring is looking good in your neighborhood. I did get an Easter basket, usually with toys and candy. We always colored eggs as well. Thank you for linking up!
