Ms. G has carpet, lots of wall-to-wall carpet, and rugs over the carpet to preserve it, as she's a realtor constantly mindful of preserving resale value of her house and never deferring any maintenance.
When i started working for her, she had an older vacuum and four cats, all of which have since gone over the Rainbow Bridge, but during their tenure she got a newer vacuum which is now showing its age.
With the arrival of April and Sassy, the cats she was never supposed to get but did because she couldn't disappoint Ms. Fiona when she went in the assisted place, and Mr. Gray who is not supposed to be there but has snuck in anyway, the vacuum is getting quite the workout.
There's long black Sassy hair and long gray Mr. Gray hair all over the place, and every rug has to be vacuumed and then rolled up and vacuumed under, and she has replaced parts on this vacuum more than once and cleans it out once in a while.
This week, the above the floor cleaning was losing suction, probably due to something in it somewhere, and i alerted Ms. G.
Between now and next week, Ms. G will take it outdoors and take the whole thing apart, find what's going on, clean and replace something if needed, thus giving the poor thing one more lease on life, as she hates to give in and totally replace small or large appliances.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
We all know private and secret
are two different things in this way,
things private we all know but keep silent
but our secret things no one can say.
It's no secret I go to the restroom
but in private I use it each day,
so I won't go in this facility,
I'll keep my privates that way!

Angel Brian's Family of Brian's Home - Forever hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. It's time to share something for which i am thankful.
Today i'm thankful i got to "play in the dirt" and plant tomatoes with Ms. G. Since i had to give up working in Mr. B's garden (no time), i didn't realize how much i've missed it.

I would avoid that facility too. Shudder. I don't want to see or be seen.
ReplyDeleteThat's one way of ensuring the toilets remain clean.
ReplyDeleteBetter than a fence!
God bless.
There's NO way I would use that facility. I've lost count of the number of times I took apart my kids vacuum back when I was cleaning their house, the sweeper head always had so much hair tangled around the roller brush!
ReplyDeleteLike so many people of my age I was brought up to make appliances last as long as possible. If a home repair can be done that's great if not it's nice to see if you can find someone to work on it. Love the fence.
ReplyDeleteI love animals, but I found out after living with no pets for the last few years that home maintenance is soooooo much easier with no pet hair!
ReplyDeleteOh oh! Go into that bathroom place - no way! It feels like a nightmare dream to me... (running)
ReplyDeleteOh so glad you got to work in the garden ~ fun ~ hugs,
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

Yikes! That bathroom looks awful!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog
ReplyDeletePlease read my post
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm afraid that's not a bathroom for me!
ReplyDeleteOops! That anonymous post was from me.
ReplyDeleteI like your six sentence story about the Overwhelmed Vacuum cleaner! Cat hair will certainly clog up a vacuum! Oh my goodness - I would hate to go to that bathroom!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was a good story and some fun poem. Such a good thankful too! Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteCute poem. I'd rather pee my pants than use that bathroom. I don't care about resale value, I like to enjoy my home with no restrictions. XO
ReplyDeletepersonally...i don't like pets as its so much work.....and lol...that toilet picture.... :-))
ReplyDeleteI love the way you construct your sentences; it's like a long and leisurely stroll through a rose garden (where one never forgets to smell the roses).
ReplyDeleteThe vacuum lives to see another day! I'll pass on the pee-house thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteThat was a fun poem, Mimi, we all want our purrivacy, even us😸😸Extra Pawkisses🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteThose cats have a never-ending supply of furballs and other personal greetings!
ReplyDeletecarpets and animal hair (including dogs) is tough... for a while, in smaller areas I used to wet my bare feet and scrape the carpet. hair would clump and then easy(ish) to pick up with vaccuum (works on car upholstery...cept with hands insteada feet ...lol)
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to older appliances it's often worth fixing but eventually, the day comes...
ReplyDeleteYes! Glad you had opportunity to work the earth.
Java Bean: "Ayyy, that sure is a shame about Ms. G's old vacuum going to the Rainbow Bridge! Do you know if anything specific caused it? Just so we can make sure nothing similar happens to the vacuum cleaners here, of course ..."
ReplyDeleteThat public restroom could be making some statements about why people abuse privacy.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your six sentence story on vacuuming cat hair.
