It was my great niece's 14th birthday earlier this month and the card I made for her is HERE. She asked for money for her birthday as she's always saving for something. We saw her today and this is the money wallet I made for her, using a similar colour combination that I used on her birthday card. (Gone are the days when money and vouchers can be guaranteed to arrive if sent by post.)
My card is made entirely with snippets, except for the base card. I covered the front with card strips punched with an old Martha Stewart border punch, which hasn't been used for ages. I die cut two circles using dies from the Spellbinders 'Petite Scalloped Circles' set. The flower was made with dies from the Jamie Rodgers 'Daisy Blossoms' set. I finished off the front with tiny white pearls.
The front is split in half and the bottom half attached to the back of the card with double sided tape on the side and bottom to form a pocket. I used a Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder.
The card measures 6" x 4", which is big enough for UK notes.

I think I have the same borderpunch somewhere in my stash... seeing how greet this looks I will have to use it again! Love the colors!
ReplyDeleteHere the same with the post... Christmascard to the next village didn't get delivered by one and the other got it, but 3 weeks later...

A beautiful feminine money wallet Liz,
ReplyDeleteLots of pretty lacy snippets used on this money wallet. I have that self-same punch stowed away in a drawer 😉 and, like yours, unused for far too long a time.
ReplyDeleteFab money wallet Liz, very bright and cheerful. Love how you have used multi layers of the old MS edge punch - I have quite a few of these and must admit I don’t really use mine now either, looking at this makes me think I should!! xx
ReplyDeleteA very pretty way to gift money or vouchers,, sue she was a happy girl.

These lacy punched strips in layers look really pretty Liz and I love the yellow, blue and white combination and the swiss dots embossed on the inside finish it perfectly, and I'm sure the gift card as well as the contents will be much appreciated by your great niece. x
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and creative way to use that punch!

A lovely colourful money wallet. I'm sure your Gt. Niece appreciated it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. See you up in the treehouse for a choccy egg or two (all calorie-free as they are virtual!) xxxx
Hi Liz, the card is very beautiful, the paper lace with alternating colors gives a beautiful effect. The rosette in the center that hides the opening is a fabulous idea.

Hi Liz, a fun and colourful way to gift your great niece some money, love the way you cut the card front in half to create the pocket. One of our friends received her Christmas card in February, despite being posted the first week of December... have a wonderful Easter weekend... Megan
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea Liz, and I love how you decorated it so it hides the surprise with such lovely colours xxx LesleyG
ReplyDeleteThe creative use of lacy punched strips and layered colors beautifully complements the floral centerpiece, making the wallet both elegant and cheerful. It’s an inventive way to gift money while adding a thoughtful personal touch.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun design and a great way to use your snippets, Liz! So creative. Thanks for linking your project up in our Die Cuts or Stencil Challenge on the Addicted to Stamps & More Blog. Cathy ATS&M DT
